An observation and some questions
I smoked a Oliva Connecticut a few weeks back. I wasn't impressed, bland, boring, etc. Then I discovered dry boxing and the way it improves the burn. I have had another sitting in the dry box and smoked it tonight. What a difference. Still not my favorite smoke, but it was spicy and had a lot more flavor. Even packed a punch the first didn't. Wondering if anyone else has experienced that kind of Jekyll and Hyde difference. Both were bought at the same time and the only difference I know of is the dry boxing. Not concerned, just curious.
Also, a lot of cigars I smoke have little holes in the middle of the ash. Its not tunneling or beetles. It looks like I shoved an 1/8th inch rod through the cigar, but i don't see any evidence of that at the cap. Some times I see two holes. The are perfectly round and small (1/8th inch or less). Is this a result of the rolling process? Am I getting a little buzzed and hallucinating? Am I way to fascinated with the burn on my cigars. I know the answer to the last question...YES! ![]()
