Re: Most disappointing stick?
It wasn't one of the standard Kristoff sticks. Most of them only get to the $8 mark. This one was like $18 after taxes and all wrapped up, which you don't normally see with the Kristoffs. I have no real idea what I was, since I only saw it after he bought it, but I'll know to stay away from those from now on.

Re: Most disappointing stick?
Everyone had mixed Reviews on the Acid Kuba Maduro sooo i figured that would be the one I smoke first plus it smelt wonderful. I went home last night I cracked open Beer or 6 and opened the Acid as soon as i put it in my mouth i had to take it out and look at it... I tasted like I had candy in my mouth it was weird. I lit the Kuba Maduro and i tasted Skittles for about the first half. I was almost Annoyed because I kept licking my lips as i smoked it.So About 45 min into it got worst, it tasted like Hay almost. Needless to say this might be my last Acid but it was rolled very well.

Re: Most disappointing stick?
I have to agree. I've had a couple Man o Wars and just cant get into it. I know it gets great reviews, but not from me. I still want to try a MoW Ruination, but I'm pretty well done for this one.

Re: Most disappointing stick?
Definitely the RyJ 1875 Churchill. My first RyJ, and I was excited because I thought they were all really good, but very very disappointed...

Rocky Patell Edge. Thus far it's been my only Rocky...and it has made me apprehensive toward the brand. Darn thing wouldn't stay lit.

Re: Most disappointing stick?
For me that would be the Acid brand. I bought a sampler tin because I had heard people rave about Acid.
Well the first one I tried was so horrid I thought it had to be a mistake. I ended up trying several before I realized it wasn't the one, but the whole line that I dislike!! (Ok, I'm a slow learner) ![]() But that's only my personal taste, as I've heard said here frequently, if you like it, smoke it and enjoy!!!

Re: Most disappointing stick?
Please lets understand this is personal, and not to infringe on the cigar company. The most disappointing stick I have ever somed was a perdomo en vidro.
I purchased a beautiful box of ten on a bid cite, and they came individually tubed in large glass test tubes, with a piece of fabric or something on top and a cork to seal it. Very striking. I had read reviews on these, and told of the pumpking and holiday spice aromas. I took them out of tubes, and put all 10 down into the bottome recesses of my favorite humidor. After about 2 or 3 months, I took one out. I was so excited about this one, In my mind I have already purchased a thousand of these, to live happily ever after with. I took one out, on the first cool crisp day here in new york. I was so disapponted. The cigar was very average, with a draw that was impossible to me. It was constructed exceptionally well, but no flavors, nothing that I expected. A huge disappointent. I am tearing up as I am writing this. I had" great expectations", but was left with "green eggs and ham" Jerry |

Re: Most disappointing stick?
So far mine was a surprise to me....a Perdomo Lot 2 maduro robusto I smoked last night. It just was too leathery tasting throughout the whole thing...very strong leather which I don't like. I don't know if it was just me or the cigar or a little of both...but when I tossed what was left I was not terribly sad to see it go.

Re: Most disappointing stick?
Probably a Padilla Obsidian that just refused to burn. Was pretty tight, so I let it rest for a month, then after she would`nt burn, tried cutting it off and dry boxing. Still would`nt burn. So then I let it sit out in the open for almost a week thinking if anything would work, that would. Still would`nt burn. Flushed it with over half of it still there.

Re: Most disappointing stick?
I'd have to go with the Ashton ESG 20 yr old. Probably because my expectations were through the roof on this one. While the construction was flawless, the stick was utterly one dimensional. I've since given the 20 yr a few "second" chances --and I'm sorry to say my initial impression turned out to be the right impression (the 21 --robusto-- is a superior smoke; have yet to try the new torpedo... and for $20+, I'm not sure I ever will) . I can't say it's a bad cigar--but it is a disappointing cigar.
Had the same experience with the GOF. |
