Tatuaje Noella La Riqueza No. 4 I think they are both made by Don Pepin but not sure, but both were excellent |

Darn, I thought this thread was for people who'd jumped OFF the Pepin boat.

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
A lot of great smokes in this post! A couple I will re mention are the 601 Green (great smoke) and the Tat La Riqueza. The la Riqueza is a little different then the reg Pepin blends, but damn its freaking tasty!!
By the way unless that is the Old Padilla 32s, they are no longer made by Pepin.

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
I have one cooler that is only for DPG sticks. 601s are great, blue and black are phenomenal, and the 5 Miamis are amazing for an inexpensive DPG.

Don't forget the "My Father"...you gotta try one of those. The Cedros Deluxe is amazing.
Any of the Tatuaje Reservas will surely please, as well. The J21 Reserva is top shelf!! |

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
Had my first San Cristobal last night without any rest. It was still amazing and it probably my favorite DPG smoke so far.

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
I really get confused when people mention the colors
There is a 601 Series Blue by DPG right and then there is a Don Pepin Garcia Blue? So when people mention they like Blue I have no idea which one they are talking about |

Anyway, when people talk about a "DPG Blue" or a "Pepin Blue" they are talking about the DPG brand, not the 601.

The new DPG Blue is a dog rocket!? It's still better then 90% of the smokes out there IMO.

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
All 601 Blues are horrible, and should immediately be sent to me for proper disposal.

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
Big Pepin fan here as well. My favorite is the El Centurion - if you can find them. Cubao and Nestor Miranda SS are tremendous as well.
Look at some of the house blends he does for Phatash/Cigar King and Holts. Nacionales W are, IMO, every bit as good as some of his more well known brands. |

Re: Jumpin the DPG boat
DPG really knows how to make a good smoke. Tat Miami, Cubao, 601 Green / Blue, JJ Maduro are all good bets. And for a truly unique love-it-or-hate-it experience, give La Riqueza a shot. Spicy and (to me at least) salty! In a good way.
Careful with the Padilla 1932 purchase, if the label doesn't have block letters, then you're getting a non-DPG version of the cigar. Still worth a smoke though. Edit: NinersFan mentioned Nestor Miranda Special Selection. I didn't even know that was a DPG blend, but it is quite fantastic as well. I especially love the lancero. |
