How many go to smokes do you have?

I used to have my go to as the JdNA Belicoso. Then it became the JdNA and the Casa Magna. then I added the Gran Habano #5 Corojo. and yet the Padilla Signature 1932 Robo, and the Illusione cg4. And High End Opus and GoF.

What I have discovered is that there are so many great cigars, I don't want to be limited to one go to smoke anymore. It would be like eating Meatloaf every other day. I love meatloaf, but everyday would get boring.

What I want to know is how you feel about smoking the same cigar on a daily basis.

My favorites right now are the Oliva V, Padron Maduro, Man O' War, and RyJ Reserva. One of those will always make me happy!

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

Before I found this forum I was happy with just 3 or 4 different smokes in my humidor, for many years that was enough for me, then ...... I began to read the reviews and the announcements here of killer deals available and my life hasn't been the same, now I want them all. Why, oh why did I click on that link that brought me here? God must hate me and wants me to die in poverty, that must be it.

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

Depends on how you define go-to.

If youre talking every day affordable stuff then i like padron londres maduro and Arganese Coronas

IF go-to means something I pick up when I want a cigar that wont disappoint then mine are: Serie G Toro, CX2 robusto, Italia Novella, and JdNA Antano '70.

If i had to pick one to smoke every day id have to go Serie G

WE have the same tastes, Andy. My "go to's" are pretty much the same as my humidors are loaded with the JDnA, Padillas 32, 68, CG4's but for everday smokes I keep Puros nearby along with 6 month aged Reyes Pirates Gold. I recently discovered the place Jerry (veteranvmb ) turned me onto and I am smoking these almost every day. These are incredible cigars after they are aged for a couple of months.

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

You will expand that as you try more cigars. I alternate my go to smokes with a lot of other cigars as there is so many out there. It's like a tobacco orgy of great cigars and I am Caligula.

Gary, I find myself smoking them more and more also. Do you think they are putting something weird in them to make us smoke them
As soon as I get that free humidor from c.i. that my better half won, I am going to fill it up from the shop.
I smoke them too fast to age them.

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

Since I am a relatively new BOTL, I only buy 5 packs and Samplers so that I can keep trying new things. Honestly, I can't see myself ever buying a box...unless of course it is a great deal on a box of Tabak Especial

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

A month ago this would be easy: RyJ Vintage II. But now... mass confusion. Ya'll have turned me on to so many wonderful cigars that I had no choice but to invest in cooledors and spanish cedar. It is my God given mission to find that ONE elusive cigar that I must have! At least that's the excuse that works for the moment!

The Vintage II is still one of my favs but the Flor de Ybor belicoso is right there. I find myself continuously going to: Cuesta-Rey #9 & #60 maduro/sungrown, Oliva G maduro/natural, AF Cuban Corona maduro, some Patels like the vintages 90 & 92 as well as his sungrown; Cohiba red dot and Graycliff original. For the price, it's hard to put down a 5 Vegas Classic.

The La Aroma de Cuba original blend is a fav and I've been buying up as much of those as my wallet lets me since the blend has changed. I love the Aroma EE line also. San Cristobal is on the list so I am definitely exploring the world of DPG and it is very rewarding.

I've had the God of Fire Carlos blend and it was wonderful. I have the Carlito blend and the Opus on rest in the humi along with some Padron 1926 and 1964 smokes. Last but not least, I haven't found a Don Carlos or Hemingway that I didn't like.

Now, to find another Between the Lines!

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

I have to switch it up. I did smoke the Gran Habano Corojo this past weekend and what a great stick, not only to smoke but to look at as well. A nice smooth dark oily wrapper packed with tobacco, it was great but I wouldn't smoke it everyday. I like to switch it up, I might smoke the same brand (ie: fuente) consecutively but it will be different vitolas of different kinds.

Re: How many go to smokes do you have?

I'd say 10-15 go-to smokes right now, it's always changing though. Among the brands: Padilla, Indian Tabac, Montecristo, Camacho, RP, etc.
