Agreed, I really like the Triple Ligero, but it's not the strongest thing I've ever had.

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

i smoked a camacho corojo ltd 08/22 - the first draw on that thing produced some of the thickest, smooth, but incredibly strong smoke i have ever tasted

this one knocks you down simply because you can't stop drawing on it.

i would suggest picking one of these up - its a fairly large size that increases in flavor all the way to the end - try cbid, you can get a single for $5

had 3 pre-embargos - not that strong really compared to other camachos, pretty good though

also, in my experience, the gurkha black dragon is a pretty heavy smoke as well as padilla 1932 limitada signature salomon (may just be the immense size of the thing)

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

Well I just smoked the Camacho Triple Maduro - not impressed compared to the LFD DL

First of all the flavor profile mostly was pepper, tons of pepper at first then it mellow and smoothed out a bit a lot of spice and I guess it was leather, and it was pretty one dimensional, a bit boring, it was strong but not as strong as the LFD

for the price I paid $13 and change LFD still much better deal and much more enjoyable. It did have great draw and no burn problems, excellent construction. Would not buy again.

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

This question appeals to me since I smoke strong cigars almost exclusively. Number one: I'm surprised no one has suggested a 601 Green Label yet. It is an absolute powerhouse, one of my all-time favorites. Give it a try, I think you'll really enjoy it. I also second trw's recommendation of the Camacho Corojo Ltd. 08/22. Extremely strong, great flavors, and for some reason that size seems especially powerful. Some other possibles:

Ashton VSG (I find the smaller sizes to have the most kick)
Man O' War Ruination (Comparing this to the original Man O' War is a joke - the Ruination is a much better stick)
Arganese CL3 (Good choice if you're on a budget)

Finally, though I enjoy the flavor of the cigar quite a bit, I agree that calling the Camacho Triple Maduro 'full-bodied' is a bit of a stretch.

Keep us updated on how the tasting is going!

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

I agree with the others about the LFD Double Ligero. I also thoroughly enjoyed the 3 Camacho SLR's I have had.

Both cigars are the kind that when you go to set it down on the ashtray, before it touches the tray, you raise it right back up to get another toke.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the name Tatuaje. Here's a chart that might help when it comes to the Tats.

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

Thinking about "really strong sticks" the other day, you know what kind of kicked my ass once?

El Rico Habano

Churchill-size, hadn't really eaten beforehand. That might do it, but it was pretty strong. Might want to try that, too.

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

I had a Diablo Picante cigar a few weeks back, Pretty strong and spicy until you hit the last 1/3 , it mellowed out quite a bit.

Diablo cigars are handcrafted under the direction of Cigar Master, Daniel Nuñez.
They have a complex, spicy flavor that is consistent throughout the entire smoke.
But, Don’t look for Diablo cigars to be offered anywhere at bargain-basement prices as closeouts. Diablos are hard to come by, I think you can find them at The Famous Smoke Shop online.

Re: What are the strongest full bodied smokes?

ok I smoked the JdN 1870 last night was not very impressed with it, it was strong but I did not find it a very interesting cigar, but I might try it again.

this morning I had the CAO Lx2, and I liked that one a lot! Only problem I had with that one was a very tight draw, but very tasty cigar

+1 Good post.

Try not to confuse "body" and "strength". Many do, even reviewers.

You can have a strong cigar that will give you a monster buzz, but lack body. Conversely, you can smoke a medium strength cigar that has tons of body. When I, or another person refers to a cigar as being "powerful" or a "powerhouse", I intend/assume it to mean offering both strength and body.

In the realm of strong, full bodied cigars, youre gonna be hard pressed to match the LFD DL line. IMO, they rule the style.
