Padron Family Reserve 45 Anniversary

I was at my local b/m just now trolling for Anejos(no luck) when I spied these. They are new. They are expensive ($25 a pop). They are GORGEOUS. And the owner said they were like a "1964 on steroids". What does everyone know about them?

Re: Padron Family Reserve 45 Anniversary

It was a great cigar with lots of depth. I still want to know how the Padrons make such a great cigar with that classic Padron taste. The only negtive thing I can say is the price being I paid close to $35 with tax

$25? Hows $37.50+tax for a 80th at my b&m sound?

Re: Padron Family Reserve 45 Anniversary

I am a Padron Maniac. First cigar that I ever really loved. I am still trying to get my hands on the 40 and 80 years to try as well....Love that Padron flavor. And get this. My wife who started to smoke with me several years ago hated the mild cigars such as the Macanudo's and went straight for the Padrons. Boy...I'm a lucky man... Except that she smokes all my good cigars...LOL

Re: Padron Family Reserve 45 Anniversary

My buddy and I had the Maduro last weekend. Paid $35 a piece. It was a delicious cigar with some nice complexities. It is a full bodied cigar, we were hurting after getting through it. I would love to smoke another one, but at that price its hard to justify it.

Re: Padron Family Reserve 45 Anniversary

I find this interesting. Mr. Padron himself has always talked about the fact that he generally limits the number of "special" or "anniversary" lines he wanted to produce, as he felt that having too many different lines would impact quality standards... and now he's coming out with another line. While I have no doubt they are a fantastic smoke, just like everything else the Padron family produces, it does make me wonder.

I also want to know how these stack up against the 1926 40th Anniversary and 80th Year lines, as those are considered the top 2 lines they produced.

Based on pricing alone, it seems like this would be considered just above the 40th, just below the 80th, and above all other 1926 "regular" lines and all the 1964 Anniversary lines, no?
