Gran Habano 3 Siglos Gran Corona

Just smoked my first one of these and liked it alot, it was a really nice, "sit and relax" smoke. Soooo...not wanting to pay B&M prices for a few more of these, I did a cursory scan of some online vendors and see that CI has what I consider to be a screamin' deal on boxes....

Gran Habano 3 Siglos - Cigars International

...only problem, no Gran Corona's listed. Does anyone out there know how these other sizes stack up to the Gran Coronas? My cigar budget has really been cut lately, but this cigar was good enough, that I'd consider springing for a box if the flavor profile on one of the other vitolas in this line matched the Gran Corona closely.

Thanks!

I've enjoyed the Robusto, but have never had a Gran Corona to compare it to. I have an order of the Robusto's on b/o. If/when I get them I could send you one to try if you like.
CI does list them as a closeout special, so I'm not even positive I'll get mine though.

NM I see they list them as in stock now, so I should get them fairly soon. They also have the 10 cigar flight sampler if you want to try all the sizes.

Thanks for the offer, Ray, I think I'd just prefer if you could tell me what about the Robusto you like in the 3 Siglos...is there anything that stands out about it to you that makes it a good cigar? That's the size I was thinking of ordering if I decide to. I don't really want anymore Churchills right now, even though the R/G is closer to the GC's. I often enjoy the Robusto vitola in other brands. I don't know, it seems like a really good price to me, considering I enjoyed the one I had earlier so much...may just take a gamble...may just go to bed and see what a nights rest brings...I guess I don't have to decide right this second...
Thanks for your input,

Thanks for your input,
Hmmmm, I have a very undeveloped palate at this point. Pretty much all I know is if I like them or not. I tried one and immediately bought more.
I do have an excerpt from Cigar.com's sale catalog, where they show a review of it.
"3 Siglos offers peaty flavors with an underlying sweetness from start to finish" it also goes on to say it pairs well with dark, roasted coffee. It's rated an 86.
Wish I could offer you a better review.

Man, I appreciate you just taking the time to respond...I think I'm just going to take a chance on a box of Robustos, I found some Gran Coronas on sale at another site for around $70 and when everyone else has 'em (Robusto's, etc.) starting around $100 and a guy can can pick them up at CI for about $40 with the $10 off deal, it's just hard for me to pass that up, especially with cash being tight and sticks going for $8 and up at the B&M. If I wasn't so impressed with the smoke I had last night, I'd probably be a bit more hesitant, but I figure, even if the flavor is off a bit from the corona, it's probably still going to be good to me!

Thanks!

Rod, I have only smoked the robusto. After my 1st, I immediately ordered 5 more 5packs of them. I 've been through about 20 sticks so far. Very consistent smoke, no surprises, great even burn. I would recommend you try this size.

Ed

Re: Gran Habano 3 Siglos Gran Corona

Thanks Ed, yeah, I've just had a real good feeling about these things from the first puff, pulled the trigger on a box this afternoon, and if I could justify it, I'd call CI and ask them to throw another box on the order....little beyond my means these days though. Thanks for the input of your experience, only the 2nd full box I've ever purchased, can't wait for it to come!
