La Aroma Old and New Blends Question

I understand that the original La Aroma de Cuba blend has now been reblended by DPG (and that the Edicion Espciale La Aroma line is unchanged). So, are the bands for the original and reblended smokes different? Will I be able to tell which blend the cigar is made from by just looking at the band?

I have been buying a ton of the original blend and comparing them to the ones I already had to make sure that they indeed looked the same. Be a heckuva lot easier just to look at the band unless the cigar's appearance is really different now.

Enquiring minds want to know. Well, really just me. Thanks.

The second link is to the La Aroma EE blend which has been around and is unchanged. The EE line was blended by Pepin. The first link is to the new blend for the original line but as far as I can tell the bands haven't changed. The new blend for the original line is now by Pepin also and is made in Nicaragua while the old blend was made in Honduras I believe. Thanks though.

I believe the bands and boxes have stayed the same. The new blend is denoted by a red ribbon on the foot.

Re: La Aroma Old and New Blends Question

Aren't the new La Aroma's offered in all new sizes/shapes as well? I seem to recall that the emphasis of the new blend is on larger ring gauges. Could certainly be mistaken but I don't believe that there is any redundancy in terms of sizes.

Re: La Aroma Old and New Blends Question

I used to have an "in" on buying these and smoked the torpedo..I thought these were very good and then I lost my "in" and have not bought any since.. I do think they are a little over priced..

This is a point of mourning for all La Aroma fans. The new blend is nothing like the old and not nearly as good. To add insult to injury, they dropped my favorite vitola.

This is exactly why I have been buying up what I can, when I can afford it. Great smoke to me. Haven't had the new blend yet but I ain't taking any chances unless proved otherwise.
