Opus X Interrupted
This past week (Wednesday) I was awarded a promotion with the company I work for, therefore justifying me to smoke an Opus X Perfection Number 2 as a victory stick. My wife and I celebrated by going to dinner, but prior to that I had smoked half of the cigar prior to her coming home from work. Needless to say I had to put to put the stick out to enjoy the festivities with her. Amazingly 3 days (today is Saturday) later after sitting in the garage awaiting my return the cigar lit up and smoked well with no problem at all. I wonder if the humidity in Southeatern Louisiana preserved it. Also, I guess it knew it was a special celebritory vice, therefore warranting me to enjoy it to the nub. Wow, after the initial two inches, this baby was just as the as good as the beginning. The cigar was a delight just as the initial lighting on Wednesday. Life is freaking great!!!!

Re: Opus X Interrupted
I cried after I read the part where you put the Opus away and came back to it 3 days later. I'm not sure something resembling a small miracle happened for you to get the same taste after laying it down for that long a time and then going back to it. Glad you got to enjoy a great cigar.

Re: Opus X Interrupted
Thanks bros. It was a miracle the cigar remained the same like it waiting for me. Also, thanks for the props on my promotion.

Re: Opus X Interrupted
Being your neighbor to the east, I can 2nd the thought on the humidity. I can open my humi and it can read 66% within a minute or two after deciding what I want, its up to the 70s easily and thats inside my home.
Today its near 80-90% seeing that it just rained. Glad you enjoyed your Opus.

Re: Opus X Interrupted
I leave cigars out in my smoking shed all the time and come back to them. I would not say that they are as good as they were when first smoked, but were still very good.

Re: Opus X Interrupted
Congrats on the promotion.
I find that when putting out a cigar and smoking later, it just doesn't taste the same. Even after relights it can be pretty bad. A cigar never tastes the same as when you light it once. |
