Whats your favourite Robusto??

Hi all,

I would like to know what your favourite sized robusto is?

I am asking this question as I want to place an international order (my stocks are running low). The only criteria would be a cigar that is under US$10 and medium in strength.

I have read that the olivia and don pepin brands are great, what about the rocky patel and gurkha brands? Any others that ought to be looked at?

I have tried robusto's in these brands; CAO Camaroon, CAO Maduro, Excalibur, Carlos Torano and Padron, plus a few cubans. My fav would be the Excalibur Epicure (had one about a week ago).

If it were me, I would be looking at:

anything DPG - My Father, San Cristobal, Tats, Cuban Classic, JJs (1st 3 probably pushing the $10 limit),

Padillia - 1932, 68 and Miami

RP - Decade, 92 and 90

Oliva - Cain, MB3 and series V (these are probably more full than medium), series O then series G for filler.

Not a big Gurka fan since I can never keep up with their 50 different labels. That being said, if you find one you like, they can be had for a very reasonable price if you look at Ci or the devil site (assuming they ship down under).

Everyone's taste is different so I would do samplers until you find what you are looking for.

All good recommendations there. One I would add in the medium strength range would be the Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro, one of my personal favorites and very reasonably priced at around $4 per stick.

In that price range, there are many I enjoy but My favorite at this point in time is the
El Rey del Mundo, a Honduran stick 5" X 54 Ring, both Natural and Maduro!

For medium I really like punch rare corojos. They seem to vary by year, but the ones I bought in 09 are great. They can be had for pretty cheap from JR

Great recommendations and mine would probably be the CAO Maduro its a great medium-full body cigar in my opinion

for me its the La gloria R 5 nat and the padilla habana is pretty good too

My favorite by far is the Oliva V, I just can't get over them, they haunt me while I sleep and the whole bit!

considering your location, why not go with a box of RASS or CoRo as Jesse suggested? My vote is for the RASS of course.

i've got a padron 3000 maduro in my tuppadore at the moment, might try that next.

i haven't had a cohibo robusto yet, there about $35 dollars over here so it will have to wait for a special occasion

i'm going to order a 5 pack of perdoma's from the oz website for about $55
