CAO Criollo
What are your thoughts on this smoke? I tried one yesterday for the first time and I have to say that while it tasted sweet and was smooth, I didn't like it. It was equivalent to being in a club drinking a girly drink... Wasn't bad, but just something not right about it.
I let my wife take a few puffs and she LOVED it! It was too sweet to me. Tasted like chocolate with a few nuts here and there. Only smoked 1/3 of it and let it die naturally. Anyone else feel the same? |

Re: CAO Criollo
Just checked my email before reading your post - Thompson has them on for $69 today only (box of 20 torpedo's).
Think Ive only had one, but if remember correctly, I liked it well enough. |

I like them, don't remember them tasting too girly.

Re: CAO Criollo
I saw these at the local B&M and almost grabbed one. Then I saw an AF I had never saw and got it. I plan on getting one or five from online for the cheap and give them a try. I don't mind a "girly" drink or stick every now and then. Variety in life makes for an undull day.

Re: CAO Criollo
I was thinking of getting these but I do not like T's and had a very bad experience with them last week when they had a box of Gurkha's on sale for $35 but refused to honor their price. I want to get these but do not trust them. What to do?

Re: CAO Criollo
Ive done good bit of business with them, no problems. Dunno why they wouldnt honor an advertised price.

Not trying to bash here. I am just telling you what my experience was with them last week. I think this is a good deal and I really want to get it but My confidence is a little shaken. I might just might give them a chance at some redemption and pick these up. Of course if all goes well I would be happy to post some good experience comments. |

Re: CAO Criollo
If it was Green Dragon, Red dragon or whatever, then yep $35 would be a typo. If it was Sherpa, then I could see a box of them going for $35 on special.
Anyways, Criollo torpedos for $69 + free ship + the cool box, I had to pull trigger on this one. ![]()

Re: CAO Criollo
Jeezus! What a HIJACK!
Sorry your thread got so muddled so fast. Fact is, the Criollo is a fabulous smoke with great flavor, ample body and decent strength. I think it's possibly the most underrated cigar out there, CA's high marks notwithstanding. They are fantastic with a dark roast coffee in the morning and go very well with both peaty scotch and a good rum. The Pato is probably my favorite, followed by the Mancha. I have a Conquistador in my humi I haven't tried yet, but am looking forward to it. Thing is, most smokers haven't really smoked enough Criollo tobacco to understand all that's going on with it. I am never without them.

Re: CAO Criollo
I have had the Criollo in both Conquistador and Mancha and enjoyed them both. I will be buying more of the Manchas or Patos in the near future. I like the Kristoff version better and hope to add a box of those to inventory soon.

Re: CAO Criollo
I really like the Criollo, didn't find it sweet at all. Speaking of sweet, if you don't like sweet stay away from the Sopranos! Sweetest cigar I've ever had, though I like it.
