Wow the demand for these are driving up prices on cigarbid. It is cheaper for me to buy them on Cigarsinternational or just through my B&M. I think I might have to pick up a few when I go pick up some Dracs.

I smoked one of the Cains. Solid cigar. Picked up two more. This could wind up in the regular rotation.

As for the Camacho Triple Maduro... nothing about either "Camacho" or "Triple Maduro" sounds intriguing.

The Cain maddie is simply an excellent cigar with great flavor and true power. I haven't smoked the Habano, since recent habano wrapped offerings have pissed me off.

Couldn't agree with you more. Love the MX2 and the Cusano was a great surprise for me also.

Re: Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

Definitely very good cigars. I did a looking looking this week, and there are over 15 reviews of Cain cigars online already. I compiled them here.

I wonder how long it'll be before other companies start copying the straight ligero idea. Think how many nUb-esque vitolas have been released in the last year or so.

First they are way way over over priced not that price has ever been an issue but if I'm gonna pay a hefty price for a smoke it better be worth it. The Camachos are not worth it at all.

Very boring smoke. The flavor was almost dirt like. And trying to keep this thing burning evenly was a headache. The first on I thought was a just a bad stick. It happens. But twice from 2 different shops I buy from. Just a really failed attempt at a gimmick smoke. Again thats just my opinion. I'm sure there are people on here who love em.

What a big waste of money. It completely failed in every way both times I tried to smoke one. I ended up putting both sticks to rest early. Very very over hyped and over priced cigar.
Too bad you've had bad luck with them. I do agree its a little more pricey, but I have enjoyed the ones I've smoked. Full and flavorful, lot's of smoke and all. I also like the Cusano 18 Paired as well. Have a box sitting in my coolerdor right now. The MX2 is one that I have tried numerous times, but could never get really into, oh well!

Re: Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

Last week a I smoked a CTD and a friend smoked a Cain (I am not sure which one) and he was raving about how good it was. Unfortunatly, I could not say the same about the Camacho and I could not agree more with Marko's post.

Re: Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

The straight ligero is not really an all ligero cigar. Although Oliva claims that all the flavor comes from the ligero leaves used, it's still mixed with 'other tobacco' to produce an even burn.

Another marketing ploy from Sam if you ask me. Who's to say the other tobacco does produce a significant contribution to the flavor profile other than the blender?

Hey, but if you like the cigar, a good cigar is a good cigar. Just be wary of marketing hype.

Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

Cigar Architecture is crucial in any cigar. It is especially critical in making a Straight Ligero cigar such as in the Cain cigars. Not All tobacco burns at the same rate. Ligeros are the fullest body, slowest burning of the tobaccos. Viso is a medium flavored with better burn qualities. Seco is lighter flavored and quickest to burn. It is the careful arrangement of these tobaccos that allows a cigar to burn true.
Flavor Range refers to the low, medium, and high range of flavors in a cigar blend. Typically these ranges are achieved by the three aforementioned tobaccos. In making a Straight Ligero cigar we are delivering our low, medium and high range all from Ligero tobaccos. They must carefully arrange these Ligeros with other tobaccos for a true burn. The other tobaccos make no significant contribution to flavor.
Wrapper leaf is typically credited with delivering up to 60% of the flavor of a cigar, depending on the ring gauge. This is mostly true. In a Straight Ligero cigar it plays an important but reduced role as a result of the three powerful Ligeros.

Re: Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

Wow that Cain F is one of the most peppery cigars I ever smoked!

It was definitely strong, and for $4 a cigar a very good cigar for the price, it burned great, excellent construction Also got tons of smoke and great draw on every puff. It did not have a lot of complex flavors, the pepper dominated the entire time, towards the second half i got some wood, but if you love pepper this is your cigar.

I am not sure I would say I would buy this again.

Re: Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

So I got to try the Cain Habano Torpedo last night and was one of the most boring smokes I ever had.

For a full bodied smoke I did not find this too strong compared to the Cain F. Great value smoke, and excellent construction, lots of smoke every draw, and great draw, no burn problems, but not impressed at all.

I only have one Cain left to try the Maduro but so far it is not looking too good. I liked the LFD DL a lot better for a strong complex interesting smoke

Re: Cain Straight Ligero Cigars

I'm smoking a Habano as I write this. I've tried both the Habano and the Maduro. The Habano is yummy and I'm normally a more medium plus cigar smoker. The Maduro tames the cigar a bit an while good pales in comparison to the Habano. The Habano has a great aroma and starts with a pleasing sweetness. I would never have guessed that a cigar, all Ligero, would be this good.

I did a review on the same cigar (its in the review section) and I got very little spice at all and what I got really wouldn't call it pepper. What surprised me the most about it was how freaking smooth it was.
