OK, so if I was rational, I'd think I have more than enough cigars. Truth be known, I can probably make it through several months at my current rate of consumption...2 maybe 3 a day without adding anything beyond what I'm already waiting for/bidding on. Sometimes though, I think "What happens if the nutjobs win?" What if they raise the tax bar so high I can't afford my daily reprieve anymore or...God forbid...outlaw tobacco entirely?!

What happens is, I turn the computer on and start scanning the vendors for deals...again!

How's your paranoia level these days?

I'm not too worried for the following reasons:

1. I don't believe tobacco will ever be outlawed as a whole. Fact of the matter is that the government makes so much money off taxing tobacco and politicians make alot money from campaign donations coming from "big tobacco." Because of this I don't think that any tobacco that hasn't already been outlawed in one form or another will be outlawed outright. When looking at the recent ban of flavored cigarettes and clove cigarettes, keep in mind that they already had a history of being illegal in a few states (Maryland being one).

2. When it comes to the addition of taxes being placed on tobacco, I do believe that this is a reasonable fear. However, when it does happen (and it will) we will have plenty of notice. Look at the recent SCHIP tax, we knew about it long before it was enacted. As members of this forum we are in even better shape than the typical consumer because as soon as something gets passed we will know, and thus, we will have time to react.

Because of these things (and the lack of money in my wallet) I'm not too paranoid.

I have 2 yrs supply, so all is cool, I will make it thru the upcoming tea party. now I gotsta stockpile my weapons and ammo. gotta label a bunch of those slugs with names of politicians from Taxachusetts first!

Those of you who don't really think about it, oughtta start thinking about it.
Already, you can't order internet/mail in Washington State.
Others will follow. Ignore at your peril.

Since I started pipe smoking, just over a year and a half ago,
my cigar supply will last longer than I will. I'm now working on
my lifetime supply of pipe tobacco; getting close.
