Cohiba Black...yeah, it's a cigar
Todays one of those days hat requires an extraordinary cigar...not a good day, no celebration, got some annoyingly bad news and I'm bummed and trying to lose myself for a couple of hours...that kind of extraordinary. So I've had this Cohiba Black (NC) sitting around for awhile now. I bought it because Cohiba is one of those "must try" brands and I wanted to at least be able to say that I've smoked one. I don't even remember which specific vitola this is. Something between 5"-6" and maybe 54 or a little larger rg. It's big enough around that it's a little uncomfortable to hold and smoke. All I have to say about it, is that it's an ok $2.00 cigar. It's reasonably smooth and fits ok with my mood right now..wouldn't want to actually celebrate anything with this cigar though, could easily turn a happy mood into into disappointment. But when you start out disappointed...well...like I say, it's an OK $2.00 cigar.
I've got a Siglo VI and a Lancero that I'm saving for a real celebration.

Sorry you did not like it and had a bad day, I like them all the black tends to smoke a little slow and need relighting if not left out a couple day's.

Re: Cohiba Black...yeah, it's a cigar
That's all right, you didn't roll it...burned perfect all the way, no touch ups, no re-lights, just wasn't impressed. I finished off the evening with 1/2 Padron X000 (one of the shorter ones), that I'd left perched on the back porch ashtray in our crisp Colorado air overnight. To my taste, it put the Cohiba to shame, even raised from the dead as it was. No biggie, now I can say I smoked a Cohiba (NC).

I'm one that really like C Dominicans, But the Padrons are way high on my list of favs, just have to learn more about them as I have only had a few. Let the sampling begin.
