Heads up.........vendor scam

Just to make folks aware....
A buddy on a diff site ordered a box of stix from cigarhumidors-onlinecom at the agreed price. When he checked his credit card bill, they had slipped in an additional $32 charge. He called them to complain, they said, the price had gone up. They refused to back down (well, at least at first, I don't know how it all got resolved)....telling him he could return them at his cost if he wasn't satisfied. sounds like really weak cust svc to me. beware.

Best advice I have heard is to take a screen shot of the transaction price on your pc as you order. Then the credit card co will be helpful in cancelling any bogus charge like this that gets tacked on later.

Didn't he get some type of receipt via e-mail or confirmation. I would file a BBB complaint since he only agreed to a specific charge and then file a complaint with the CC company as well. The reason why vendors do that is because there is no real consequence unless complaints are filed.

All he has to do is dispute the charge with his CC company. Then he'll get the money back in his account and keeps the sticks thereby screwing the company over.

I usually only order from a couple of places that I've never had problems with. But with that said, thanks for letting us all know.
