Sorry to say, I know exactly what you'll get for 39.95. Their telemarketing storm has a new target. I quit ordering from them because of this. You may get 30 quality cigars, but you can get those at many other dealers. Thompson's isn't what I would consider a cigar friendly business. This is just my opinion. I still get calls from them, and I promptly hang up. No matter that I have told them repeatedly that I do not want to be called, they call.

Re: Thompson's Brown Bag Special

I just got Cigar Internationals Brown Bag Sampler. Pretty decent for $20. I haven't heard any good things about Thompson's. I signed up for some info on their site and the sales guy called me within hours trying to pressure me to sign up for their club. I will never purchase anything from Thompson's.

STay away from Thompson, and especially away from their brown bag sampler. A complete waste of money.

Stick with CI, Cbid, JR, and Famous. Sorry if I left out any other good retailers, I know I did, but these are the ones I use.

Re: Thompson's Brown Bag Special

I've ordered from Thompson a couple of times, and they do sell some junk so I wouldn't buy anything from them that's a "surprise". But I've never had them call me or send me anything trying to get me to join anything... But there customer service is contracted over seas, and if you do call them to ask a question on something they will drive you nuts. So only buy something you A know what you're getting, and B don't need to call them about and you'll be fine.

Re: Thompson's Brown Bag Special

That would be the dog rocket special,
all the house brands they cant sell to anyone else at bundle prices.

For 40 bucks you are much better off finding a decent bundle that you like, maybe FDO, or similar. Lots of $40 bundles out there.

Cheers,
Randall

Re: Thompson's Brown Bag Special

I've never ordered one from Thompson, but I did get the $25 'Junk Box Hero' from CI off of a recent Joe's Jambalaya and I'm pretty happy with it. I've been wanting to try the 5 Vegas Classic, the ITC, and the Perdomo, and the Decade and Padilla '68 are already favorites of mine.

Crud... can't post pictures just yet. If anyone is interested, I can type out the 12 cigars I got from it.

Re: Thompson's Brown Bag Special

Im with the rest on this one. Its best to stick with the brands you know when dealing with Thompsons. I have had some of their house brands & lesser knowns that are ok. I have also had some that just bite. You can get some good deals on top brands through their auction site at times.
