^ haha, yea, for some reason I don't think that methodical approach was developed with cigars in mind.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
I would be way to paranoid to actually enjoy my cigar lol.
But I do have one idea that works excellent in my cigar lounge. Buy some cheap knock off Febreze (usually can be found for a $1.00 @ dollar tree, dollar general...) get a cheap home humidifier and load that sucker up with 3-4 bottles of it and crank it up full blast for about an hour or so after smoking and I doubt you'll smell a cigar the next day. I'd also suggest cracking the window with a fan on while doing this.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
Just put a fish in the microwave for twenty minutes. Or, burn some microwave popcorn. Then no one will care about the cigar smell. It never occurred to me that people in my office were trying to cover up another smell by doing this, but looking back, it was either that, or they were just trying to irritate me. Nobody eats that much fish or popcorn.
Seriously, you can't hide the smell from a non-smoker. A reformed smoker will smell it from down the hall no matter what you do to cover it. |

I put a wet towel under the door, put Saran wrap over the vents, open the windows, and turn on the fan, and it still leaves a lingering smell. Hard to conceal cigar smoke!

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
Come on guys, Eric's in West (by God!) Virginia. Not Kalifornistan, Chick-ago, or some other Nanny State. He might get a slap on the wrist, but he ain't gonna get fired.
Eric, 1) Definitely get a fan and sit next to it, with it in a window as you smoke. If you have two windows, even better! Get two small fans and create a push/pull relationship. Pull fresh air in with one and suck air out with the other. Sit next to the sucking one. 2) Definitely tuck something under the door to hedge your bets against errant smoke wafting underneath and also varying air pressures, which might occur in the larger, outer office. 3) Oust spray, IME, works MUCH better than either OZIUM (pot smoker's de-oderizer of choice), or Fabreez. Spray liberally after imbibing. 4) Get an Oust Fan and actually use the scent thingy, or get one of the new glade thingies with the timer/motion sensor. They stink way worse than cigars (chick-type bug spray) and give off a continuous odor. Even if someone notices an "off" odor, you can say, "it's this smelly chick thing I was given as a gift", shrug your shoulders and walk away.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
I think the only way to cover it is with something that smells a lot worse. The burnt popcorn is a good start, or you could go with hair, feathers, or foam rubber.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
I've tried candles, Febreeze and opening windows. Wife can still tell when I smoke inside. This morning asked me to stop smoking in the house. I guess its gonna be a cold ass winter LOL

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
I discovered this a few months ago and works great for cigar smoke. I have two cats and two dogs and you can probably guess where I am going with this as animals and litter boxes are a bit more complex than cigar smoke. This stuff gets rid of the smells of all of this and I highly recommend it.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice
Like others have said, depends on the consequences.
No matter what you do, there will be residual smell for a while. Febreeze etc help, but they will not completely wipe out the odor. Find a cigar friendly bar and have a scotch with your cigar
