Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice

With winter fast approaching, I am considering the possibility of sneaking a cigar in my office at night. I have a private office with two operable windows. The building is officially "non-smoking", but I am wondering if anyone has any advice for window ventilation, and also "secret" masking techniques. I guess I am wondering if opening a window and lighting a candle would do the trick, or is this just a crazy idea?

I've never tried, but I doubt that you can mask sufficiently to hide tobacco smoke -- especially as long as cigars last -- meaning burn. Also, I do not know if it is possible, but you would be in a world of hurt if you set off some sort of fire alarm! Regards, Butch.

I sometimes smoke a cigar in my office at night. Open the window, put on a small fan, light a candle. I've never smelled any residual in the morning.

Hmm. I often think about ways to possible get away with smoking in areas that are technically non-smoking.

I have found that febreeze works pretty well to eliminate the smell of smoke, glade scented candles seem to work pretty well too. I'd say light a candle first, then open the window, then light the cigar, then when you're done spray some febreeze & let it air out for a while. Hopefully that should do the trick.

Is the having a cigar worth losing the job over? just my opinion but I don't think I would risk it.

You my not but someone else might...

My wife quit cigarettes and when I smoke in the house, open windows and spray free-breeze..she still can smell it.

Be careful..dont know if its worth it..maybe some petite coronas or minis for the car ride??

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice

I highly doubt it will work. It just lingers too much. Hell, I smoke in my garage with the door cracked open and when I'm done I let the door stay open all the way for about 10 minutes or so and the garage smells like cigars.........even days after.

If anything, try what you want to try and use Ozium afterwards like a mad man. It's the best air freshner for cleaning smoke.

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice

7-STEP GUIDE TO STEALTH CIGAR SMOKING IN OFFICE:

Step 1) Open both windows

Step 2) Place damp towel underneath door jam

Step 3) Buy a fan and place it on HIGH oscillating in front of said door.

Step 4) Buy quality incense; burn simultaneously AND after you're done smoking.

Step 5) If you have a microwave in your office, pop a big bag of popcorn after you're done smoking.

Step 6) Spray lots of Ozium before you leave for the night and leave the windows partially open

Step 7) Prepare for someone to ask you if you were smoking in your office the next day

GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Wanted: Stealth Cigar Smoking Advice

thanks for the suggestions and cautions. There usually isn't anybody here on the weekends, so I might use a fri. or sat. night for the experiment--then I have a day or two to air out if need be.
I definitely should get a fan for the window though... Maybe try some of that febreeze stuff too...

I think the question is, do you value your job? What would happen if you got caught for any reason what so ever?

Take your laptop to the private office of some lazy jerk that you can't stand -- smoke in his/her office!
