that was actually my own reason for buying singles, besides learning what kind of cigars I like .. unfortunately I haven't kept record of my tastings, so a cigar would have to be really something special to get a second try .. maybe I should just start over again ..

Don't let this deter you. What you do next is go out and get the biggest cooler you can find and tie it to the back of the truck and go to the nearest dirt road. Drag it around for several minutes until it's nice and dirty. You don't want to ruin the cooler, but you need to get it dirty on the outside so it doesn't look new and entice the curiosity of the old lady in the garage. Then put a bunch of fishing stickers on it. This will surely throw her off because we all know how bad our fishing coolers smell after hauling a few hundred pounds of Tuna back from Mexico. Then rotate the newest stock from the inside cooler to that cooler for long term storage. You need to be sure to hide it on the highest shelf in the garage behind the old iron weights and rusted dumbbells. If done correctly you will then have room for at least another 50 boxes. If that isn't enough room repeat the steps with 2nd cooler!
This was so funny I had to read it to my wife. Luckily for me I don't see myself getting into a position to need to go through with a plan like that otherwise I'd be in trouble since she now knows about it

I'm actually just starting my collection back up again myself. When I moved out to Colorado my cigar enthusiasm was put on the back burner for a bit. But I'm full steam ahead with a new humidor on the way.

So that said, this time around I'll be taking notes and purchasing via the above method.

Cheers,
Brad

Glad everyone liked the suggestion. It is this type of thinking that will not only keep you out of the dog house, but as tmanqz wrote could end up saving your marriage.

Not sure if there is enough info to require a full sub topic, but maybe a dedicated post of stories or a sticky of some sorts. Since I'm running out of space in the garage cooler, I'm open to any and all stories that will help my collection grow without worrying about sleeping on the coach....

Re: Can you have too many different cigars?

I think as a newbie I cannot have enough... I am learning still and trying and determining what I like and don't like.

I'm taking advantage of sampler pack deals from the online retailers and hitting my B&M once a week for some deals.
