Bad day...2 great smokes

Well, the first thing this morning I found out that I wasn't going to get the job that I thought I had locked up. "Blah, blah, blah...you wouldn't enjoy yourself..." - whatever. So, naturally, I went to the local B&M and tried to make myself feel better. I picked out a Gran Habano Corojo #5 Pyramid and a Private Selection #9. Both came in at around the $5 mark, which is just about the upper limit that I'll pay.

The GH started out very mild, with almost no taste. The draw was too easy and the burn was a little wavy, but I didn't have to touch it up. It started to get interesting around the half way mark. From there, the flavor picked up and it became a very creamy, smooth smoke. If not for the first half, I would've given this one a much higher grade. I'm sure age would do this one a lot of good.

The PS is a long fill 2nd from Davidoff. I made a very non-centered V cut (first time with a v cutter), and from puff #1 to puff T+1.5 hours, this thing was awesome! Just the right amount of spice (very little) and a good woodsy flavor all the way through. The burn was dead on and the draw was just right, with loads of smoke. This is going to take the place as one of my new favorite smokes. I'm just imagining how good it would've been with a few months of age on it. Mmmmm...mmmm....good! They go for about $3/stick on CI, so I'm sure I can get some around $2-$2.50 on Cbid. I can hardly wait to get another one of these!

I got home and I found that my RyJ's had arrived from their promo (http://www.puff.com/forums/vb/retail...ml#post2708549). So the day ended much better than it started!

Now, back to the search...

I hear you on the job front....I am in an area that is almost all engineer-centric and I have a management degree......chronoligically Im 47, education/experience (degree related) Im entry-level...........with interest, well I dont even want to say....but lets say its going to be a long time before SallieMae ever gets any money back.

Good luck on the continued job search and sounds like the sticks helped to save the day

Don't know where this came from. I guess I wasn't thinking straight and going from memory is never a good thing. This cigar was actually a Private Stock #14.

Good luck on the job hunt. From what I hear though, Texas is the place to be for good jobs right now.
