A great method of ageing cigars

This is for those of you, who like mild to medium cigars, with an easy draw and a mosiac two toned wrapper.
I have done this to a couple of dozen cigars and have been really happy with the result.

First you buy a churchill sized tubo cigar of any decent brand. Now you can leave it in the tube or take out the naked cigar and put it in a canteen, a mess kit, in a pocket of a jacket, in a metal storage can, in a foot locker.

You then leave it there for about five years or more till rock solid like a black jack.

After around five years, you put it in a humidor at about 62 or 63 four four months or so.

You will be surprised with a great mild cigar no matter what it was when you received it. You will taste lots of mint and cedar, a beautiful easy draw, a magnifigant aroma, and a wrapper that has little spots of it flaked off till you have almost a checkboard board pattern of the wrapper.

Or an a few you can do what I did, and just remove the whole wrapper and smoke just the binder and filler. Didnt seem to make too much a difference.

I have about a dozen left now, that I havent smoked, and I am sorry I didnt lay down a few hundred this way.

I do have on 30 year old cuban, that I am trying to bring back. Might take 6 months before ready to smoke.

Now these others came back in texture beautiful. Got a little bit of give to them. and except for the wrapper you would never knew they were abused this way.

Much regards Jerry

Otherwise, never mind that first part.

Great idea! I am filling my coat pockets immediately for long term aging.

That is weird to say the least. Since some of the best things in life are discoveresd by accident I will have to try it out.

Re: A great method of ageing cigars

This method is based on the accidental scientific method. I have about a dozen left, maybee I should send a few out to try. Some do not even have the bands anymore.

Its sort of like how the telephone was invented by a spill of liquid. In fact so many inventions and things have been discovered, when they were actually looking for something else.

Makes me wonder why I wasted all that money on humidors. I now have a purpose for my holster "box of shame". I'm looking forward to experiencing essences of intense leather and kydex.

[QUOTE=Herf N Turf;2719193]Makes me wonder why I wasted all that money on humidors.

Yes exactly. Can you imagine how much better this world would be without humidors. Just imagine a humidorless society. The ozone layer would get thicker, babies in africa would get fat, there would be no drug problem, all people and reliogians would live in harmony and piece.
Its such a beautiful thought. Didnt Barry promise the humidorless sociiety as part of his great image for the world? I wait with bated breath.

Does it work better than the microwave? You know, the old "one minute for every year of age" you want.

LOL

I read the original post about the cuban. You must keep us informed. Maybe a monthly update and a full blown review when you smoke it.

Will do. I expect it will take about 6 months to make it smokeable, based on 3 months for rock hard 5 year olds. I have an original post somewhere about this cigar, on another thread. I belive it to be an hoya de monterrey
