Padron - 1964 or 1926?

Which do you like better?

I am thinking of picking up one of these tonight because I am in the mood for a really nice cigar

I had a 1964 Maduro Principe once and did love it, that was about a month ago or more.

But never had the 1926 series, I am not looking at the 40th or 80th anniversary because do not want to spend $30

Any suggestions? Should I try a 1926? think the 1926 is better then the 1964? I tried the delicias last night and was not too happy with it felt the flavors were all muted

Well, try a '26. They are great cigars either way.
The '64 Maduro Principe is my go to smoke.

Maybe someone with a better palate will chime in later, but you honestly can't go wrong with either. The maduros usually get the higher marks, but the natural is quite tasty. Many people I know prefer the 64's, but I honestly can't tell much of a difference. I really need to smoke them back to back some day to see if I can figure out the difference. Simply put, they both taste great to me. Try the 26, maybe you can taste a difference, and even if you find you like the 64 better, the 26 will still be a very enjoyable cigar.

They are both excellent cigars IMO. I would say the '64 is slightly spicier, while the '26 is slightly smoother. But again I would highly recommended either.

believe it or not I have not had either one. and for a huge 'regular padron" fan, it's sad. i have a 64 in my humidor, looking for the right time, might just be tonight, but have never had the 26, i wonder.... soon, soon i will smoke one away!

I'm the same way, dont smoke the 64 or the 26 regularly, but always have one in the humidor for when the mood strikes me. Both are excellent cigars.

Re: Padron - 1964 or 1926?

I've heard the 64 is better in Maduro, but the 26 is better in a natural wrapper.

I have to agree on the 26. It's livlier in complexity to me smoking.

Re: Padron - 1964 or 1926?

I would normally pick up a 64 Maduro Exclusivo in this situation just because of the cost difference between the '64s and 1926's.

But taste-wise, the 1926 #9 Maduro is to die for.

Re: Padron - 1964 or 1926?

I have never had the 1926, but would love to one day. The Padron 64 is special to me because I smoked it the night I got engaged. Had the 64 with her dad and brother. It was a good night.

It is now my go to cigar, and have since gotten at least 3 or 4 other people to try it, and they have all loved it.

I prefer the '26, though, I've only had the '64 once and I've never had a 40th, 80th, or '45.

The 64 Imperial is a GREAT smoke.

That said,

Nothing beats the 1926 line.
