FOUND!!!!!Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

Well, I did. I don't know what happened to my Xikar Trezo. The last time I used it was at a Houston Herf 3 weeks ago. We were at a pub here in Katy. I didn't notice it was missing until about 2 weeks ago. At first I thought it might be in my pants. It was not there. Then I thought it might be in the car. Nope. Then I thought it might be in the house. I checked all the rooms. The last thing I need to do is ask the people that were there if they saw it. That lighter is very special to me as my wife bought it for me a couple of years ago for my birthday.

UPDATE:

I found my lighter this morning. It slid its way in between a book and papers on the side of the door in my wife's car. I was cleaning the car out this morning and took some items that were in the side of the door inside. I told my wife to go through it before anything gets thrown away. Seconds right after I left she called to tell me she found it. Its a second birthday present as it was a present 2 years ago.

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

That sucks Sam. Hopefully it will turn up when you least expect it.

If I ever lose my favorite lighter I will just go to Wal-Mart and pay $3 for another one.

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

When I first got into cigar smoking, when I was 16, I bought a $100 lighter. I forget the brand name, but I know that it was gold (colored) and it had a build in V-cutter. It had a lifetime guarantee, and when it stopped working about two months after I got it I sent it back to the company. Years later, I realized that they never sent it back to me. I also, now know exactly what was wrong. I was trying to fill it with convenient store lighter fluid.

Ouch. It is supprising how attached we become to some things. I have had my zippo for about 15 years and would probably cry if I lost it.

I hope you find it Sam, it sucks losing things that have sentimental value.

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

When I was 17 I went to the UN. I bought a Zippo lighter that had the American and Soviet flags crossed. I wasn't a smoker then, I just thought it was a cool souvenir. Well, a few years I started smoking and it was always in my pocket. After college I joined the Navy and the first thing they make you do is box up all your clothes and anything in your pockets and send them back home. This b!tch that was checking things over took it out and threw it in a trash can and said we couldn't ship lighters. I pleaded with her to let me just ship the cover, but you know how boot camp is. If I ever saw that lady again - and could recognize her - we'd have some words!

I hope you find your lighter Sam, I know how it feels.

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

My favorite lighter right now is a Colibri Syncro that I got for free from CI. After using it pretty hard for about a year, it has two things that I really like. One, it works like a champ. If it doesn't light, it's low on fuel, simple as that. The other thing seems like a small thing but it's not. The trigger button is not right next to the flame, like on most jet lighters. This is such a clearly superior design, I literally don't know why there's any other kind. Go ahead, call me a wuss, but I really don't enjoy cooking my thumb.

I have just now confirmed with CI that the lighter is no longer available. I knew Colibri folded just a couple of months ago, but these were still in the catalog as recently as September. From reading on here, this may be the only lighter they ever made that was worth a damn. I've been meaning to buy a 2-pack of these for months, but now I guess I'll have to see if anyone else carries them. I've lost a lot of lighters over the years, but this one would really tick me off.

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

About ten years ago I laid my cigarettes and favorite (limited edition, sent hundreds of empty packs to Winston for) Zippo on the bumper of our truck. My wife drove away, losing my lighter. We walked about a half mile looking for it but we never found it. That taught me a lesson. I don't have a favorite anything now.

I hope you find your lighter. If the universe truly seeks a balance, and everything evens out eventually, then you should find it soon.

Yep. I have asked if she has seen it. She was with me that night. I just don't know what happened to it? One possibility is that it got knocked down on the floor or i may have laid it down while playing pool.

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

I lost a gold pen that my grandfather had given me at graduation....used it at college registration and laid it down on the desk after I had filled out some papers. Went back and it was GONE!

I hate when things like this happen, hope you find it!

Re: Have you ever lost your favorite lighter?

Had a piezo electric Coliibri I bought in the St Louis airport in the 70's.This was when a Colibri was a good lighter.Carried it for almost 10 years.Survived 3 trips into the Ms and Ohio rivers when I fell or was accidentally knocked off a towboat when I was a youngblood. My wife accidentally gave it and a number of my pocessions to a flea market guy without my knowledge. Now I use Ronson Jet Lites and if I loose one or they crap out,who cares.FrankB
