I am sure it was a worn sock. I use to put them in my socks and then in my boots to remember to put them in my bdus. When I came home a lot of times, I wore other boots and forgot about them, and they just got put into the contigo storage boxes.

If you are going to re-humidify them I would do it very slowly.
It's worth at least a shot. They got lost in May, one has to suspect with it being in a box and not seeing much sunlight it likely stayed fairly humidified until at least July, maybe even as far into as August. They may feel dry, but not be completely hosed.

I've tried #2 before, with distilled water..

I wouldn't bother with the others, especially the shower. Nothing distilled about shower water and steam.

Did you ever see the thread on Cigar Aficionado about the guy who would put his cigars on the windowsill and he said they were "plump and delicious".

Also I agree, there is nothing wrong with trying. I was just saying what I would do and why.

Re: Restoring a Dried Out Cigar

Thanks guys! Even if the cigars at at 80% of their original potential, they would be worth the effort. I'll let them sit for 6 months or so then update this post.

Cheers,
Brad
