Odd, isn't it, how Memorial Day is so much more than just a "long weekend?" How it evokes so many thoughts of those who've served and sacrificed?

I smoked one yesterday with thoughts of all the mothers and fathers who've lost sons or daughters in service... And the tears began to well up. I have one son... And I can't even IMAGINE what it would be like to lose him.

And so, to those who have lost theirs, though vicariously, I feel your pain!!

Had a Gurkha Connecticut Reserve #4 and a Molson Canadian in memory of my dad. US Army, Signal Corps, he was stationed at Fort Gordon some time in the early 1950s.
