Smoke a stick in memory of

Soo it's memorial day.....for me and it looks like for lots of folks, smoking is a time when you can relax, sit back and sort of think about anything....today, I'm gonna smoke a stick in memory of my Dad.

He was in the war from Feb. 1942 to the end of the War. Army Air Corp, 358th Service Squadron. He was wounded in North Africa when his outfit went through Libya, Egypt, Naples-Foggia and the Rome-Arno campaigns and then sent to the Pacific Theater in China in early '45. Died last year. He was 100 years old.

Here's a stick for you, Pops and all the other guys over there in the middle east, fighting their asses off, living the hard life.

I think I will smoke a stick for my uncle who fought two tours in vietnam and just 3 days ago underwent successful surgery for colon cancer. Thanks again to everyone fighting over in the middle east to protect our freedoms.

I will smoke one for every soldier who has fought for me to have the freedoms I enjoy, and unfortunately at times take for granted, today. Thank you everyone.

Re: Smoke a stick in memory of

Great thread. It is good to remember/think about people

My grandfather died two years ago with a sudden brain disease. Very hard on me. We were very close. Although now I wish closer.

And another grandfather. He is now suffering with lung cancer and brain cancer. Some days seem a little brighter with hope than others, but there is still hope.

I was driving home from work this morning and saw a sign at a church "A soldier paid for your BBQ"

I'm gonna smoke a stick in memory for everybody that has served and/or gave their live to protect our freedom.

Hope everyone has a good day.
