Key West and Miami were awesome! I ended up taking about 25 cigars down with me, smoked the whole lot plus some and then brought back another 22 cigars from the area.
Interesting places all over Key West and it was so completely refreshing to be able to smoke darn near anywhere in Key West (Miami was about the same). I would have loved to have seen it around the turn of the last century when there was over 1000 cigar factories and it was (unofficially) called cigar city.
Hit Calle Ocho with a friend of mine (+plus the wife) who speaks spanish. I went to about 7 different cigar places, including Padilla and La Gloria de Cuba. One of the stores was outstanding. The proprietor, Erico, was from Cuba and between his broken english and my friends spanish we had a great time. Couple of expresso coffees in the store and their store brand maduro (lonsdale or corona) I was in heaven. My wife asked how the aroma of the cigar was and, I kid you not, it smelled like fresh roasted peanuts; all around great flavor! I picked up 5 to bring back and have his email address to order more.
Cuban sandwiches, salsa music, friendly beautiful people and great cigars....it was a great week!

it certainly was a great week, and well said, but y didnt you check out the patron
location and home offices, dont they have a puplic shop at the new place

Glad you had a good time in Key West as did I when I was there last Thursday. It was a warm sunny day but you are right about being able to smoke a cigar just about anywhere. It wasn't too crowded when I docked there and I spent about 3 hours casually walking around and shopping while have a great cigar. I shall return there every year,,,good times and great memories.

I lived in Key West 30 years ago. What a fun place to be 25!! 24 hour a day party,,,,,,literally! There was a popular bar close to where I lived that stayed open 24 hours,,,,,,,,,,5:00AM it was packed! Great times!

Well, if you mean Padron, it's probably because I didn't know they were there. We started walking and spent around 4 hours and only traveled about six blocks. Fun to stop in check out what they had, how they rolled them and visit for a while.
I wish I had looked to see which of the majors are in Miami because I definately would have checked out Padron.

One other thing. I visited the DPG store where they only have a couple of shelves because the rest of the area is dedicated to receiving DPG and repackaging them for shipment. HUGE cardboard shipping boxes full of DPG!! Sooo tempting!

Great tale. Glad to hear you enjoyed your time in Key West and Miami. My next vacation s going to be to Florida... I have family in Davie.

We used to ride to Key West every year for the Poker Run. We always got rained on (hurricane season), but it's a great place to sit back, eat oysters, drink bloody marys, smoke cigars, and during the poker run at least, watch the craziness.

Yeah Padron is here but its not on Calle Ocho, so if you dont have a car, and dont really know where your going, thats not exactly a part of Miami you want to get lost in.

Im glad you enjoyed your time down here, I love living here (S. FL) Im 20 minutes from Calle Ocho and it is great that you can smoke just about anywhere and no one bothers you.

Again, glad you had fun!!!!
