Oliva Serie V are nice smokes, med-full side. I always enjoy them, very good bang for the buck.

Though I've only had the lancero in the V, I've found this assessment to be generally true. It's why I like lanceros when it's a cigar whose wrapper is especially tasty. Maybe somebody could enlighten me further, but could it be that figurados use thicker leaves of a given wrapper and that heightens the effect of the wrapper? Just speculating - and sorry for the slight thread jack.

The same leaves are used in all vitolas. The difference in strength and taste is because of the different ratio of wrapper leaf to filler leaf burning. Thinner RG vitolas will emphasize the wrapper, and thicker will emphasize the filler more. The filler provides fullness of body, and some strength, and the wrapper provides most the flavor I think. There is some argument on this. The traditional perfect balance of wrapper to filler has always been considered to be the corona.
