Petit Coronas

With the winter time coming I was looking into getting more Petit Coronas either that or go to the Cigar bar...but I cannot go there every night.

I ordered a 5 pack of Rocky Patel vintage 1990 petit corona and I have to say I am very disappointed, it just tasted very bland, and very one dimensional same taste from beginning maybe that is the problem with most Petit corona, maybe in time it will get better, but I am not impressed.

I was under the impression smaller ring gauge will give you a better taste? but that is not always true i guess.

Any suggestions for some really good Petit Coronas that will get me through the winter?

I have tried the padron delicias maduros and was not impressed as well.

I do really like Padron 1964 principe maduro and the Padron 1926 no. 35 , but I cannot smoke those everyday way too expensive.

Re: Petit Coronas

Try the Don Pepin Garcia Black Label Perla.
Also try the Tatuaje Petits and the Cabaiguan Petits. All three of these are very tasty short smokes!

In the petit corona or half corona I am very fond of the plain jane montecristos. A beautiful tasty light to medium cigar. You cant go wrong with these.

These are all really good cigars. If you're looking for something real cheap, I'd suggest some Indian Tabac Fire Petite Coronas, very good for the price IMO.

Re: Petit Coronas

I picked up a box of Bolivar Cofraidia Petits because I wanted a really quick smoke for the cold months and they were on sale at JR. I was surprised how flavorful they are. They are really small, like fat black cigarettes but they are not bland.

Re: Petit Coronas

I think between Donnie, Ben, and Jeff they pretty much covered the best sticks in the size you are looking for.
However I would like to add the 5 Vegas 'A' Anomaly, one of my favorite short smokes aside from the VSG and a couple other listed.

I think this really depends on what vitola the blender based his blend on. Corona is a very popular size for testing blends.

Every other vitola I imagine is a proportion off the original blended size.

Re: Petit Coronas

Have you thought about the tin sized cigars? Perfect for cold outdoor smoking and most manufacturers make something in that size. My favorites are the CAO Crillio and RP 92's. Those JdN Machitos ... wow. Maybe the strongest size in the entire lineup.

Tatuaje angeles.... Another I've been extremely impressed with is the Perdomo Habano Petite Corona (5x42). $54.00/box @ Atlantic.
