I think most new smokers that are passionate about this past time will go out and purchase as many good deal smokes as they possibly can. I know I did as well as read countless threads of others that have done the same.

I started out with a 20 count humi that held the first bundle I bought. I figured I could manage with this. Well of course I couldn't buy many more sticks until I smoked the first bundle down, then I bought a second bundle. It was about this time that I realized a 20 count would not suffice, so I bought a 150 count from Cheaphumidors. Surely this wiill be enough space.

Well after countless hours spent researching cigars and finding 5-packs, boxes on Auction, I quickly filled the 150 count humi. Next came the cooler which filled relatively quickly.

My stock seemed to rotate a good bit after bombs, getting bombed, running contests, etc. I wasn't quite sure what I enjoyed. Don't get me wrong, there were lots of great smokes that I would often spend a good deal of time trying to figure out what I wanted to smoke that night.

Not too long after I bought a small cabinet that had a great singles drawer and space for box storage. Soone after I was looking for more space to pack in more cigars.

I ended up with more cigars than I could handle. I finally realized that I needed to be more selective in my purchases if not altogether freeze my purchases for awhile.

It makes more sense to me in my selection for smoking now that I've stopped purchasing. There aren't new cigars coming into the mix so I can enjoy what I've stocked over the past few years I think with more scrutiny.

My point is that sometimes it's better not to get caught up in filling the cigar space you have, because once you do, you're going to look for more space.

I've emptied my cooler, my desktop is pretty bare, and my cabinet is still pretty much stocked. These days I'm enjoying the fewer choices to pick from.

I must admit I've been tempted to buy a pack of swishers to see if I still like them like I did back in highschool lol.

Ji, that's some solid experience right there man. Since I'm not 16 and thinking I can be invincible and all anymore, I've been learning to take others' experiences and learn from them. I've also been thinking, "Hey, I've got a few smokes that I really enjoy over all others that I've tried, so why not just stick to those and stick with going to the B&M for trying new stuff?"

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'll smoke anything that you can light legally, but I'm thinking I should just go where my tastes take me. My dad always tells me when I'm working on my car: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"... If only I had learned the first time!

Right now i have 2 packs of Tampa sweet perfecto's. They are good and have for me atleast a nice little sweetness to them.

Another bit of advice, you can get some bundles that are pretty inexpensive, yet also pretty good. One of those such bundles that come to mind are the Tampa Sweetheart bundles. I believe they are Fuente's seconds, though I could be wrong. I think I got a bungle of 24 for $30. They aren't bad and they are also a good smoke to hand out when you have friends that don't usually smoke over and they refuse to take more premium cigars.

I bought a 50ct box of Parti Londres Extras from 98 a couple years back and they are pretty good machine made cigars.
At first they needed to be dry boxed. I don't think I need to anymore.
They were real cheap too. I think they were under $80.

I was always a fan of Backwoods myself. I should pick up a pack and see if I still like them. The only bad part is that they run about $9-$10 a pack at the gas station now. For a few dollars more I can smoke 5 Vegas Golds instead...and I do.

If I did my homework right, those are actually Fuente firsts, rolled by their apprentice rollers. I had thought about getting some, but I've got more than enough smokes to last me until I can scrap together enough cash for what I really want. I also haven't found any great deals on em yet =( lol.

I second that, especially the Muniemakers. They got me started on this journey way back in the 70's. My buddy and I would smoke a Muniemaker when we attempted to play golf.
