Padrons...

I'm fairly new to (premium) cigars, less than year, and was gifted a padron about 4-5 months ago and its been sitting in my humidor since and have been afraid to smoke it. I have always heard they are for the seasoned smokers and have been afraid to try it fearing it would be really strong (full) and too over powering to my palate. Today was the day I decided what the hell, why not and lit it up. I have to say I'm no longer scared and actually enjoyed it/am enjoying it now. I don't know much about Padrons or what kind I even have. Do they make a medium or mild one or can you tell from the picture what this is? Any info would be appreciated and would educate a young smoker greatly. Thanks

Do yourself a favor and just buy a box of 3000's
I like the naturals,,but the Mads are good to.
The best $4.00 cigar on the market......creamy, lots of smoke
I always have a cpl of boxes in the cooler.

Re: Padrons...

That is an X000 series. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say a 4000 Maduro.

I dont have a punch but that ashtray was only about $15 bucks and that lighter I feel in love with at a B&M had to have one. You're right, there was no slope I bought a 100 ct rocky patel humidor and have it about half full and have a full 20 ct desktop full of acids. I dove in head first

Re: Padrons...

I think Padrons are more medium than full. But the one thing they are is balanced. Not too much of any one flavor and really pretty smooth. Very nice cigars.
I like the ashtray and lighter!

Re: Padrons...

Ya, I smoked a Fuente cameroon and then a Padron 3000 this weekend one right after the other and I preferred the Padron by a fairly wide margin. It seemed smoother and slightly more complex.

Cheers,
Randy

The Padron Londres is also a really good, reasonably priced smoke. Only $3-4 single. That was one of the first cigars I ever smoked, and I fell in love!

Re: Padrons...

The other guys are right....the X000 series are good everyday smokes. The Padrons that everyone really raves about are the anniversary series, 1964 and the 1926.
I haven't had the 1926 yet but always keep a few of the 1964 on hand for "special" occations. The 1964 is very, very good! Great construction, perfect draw and consistent (good) flavor profiles the entire stick.

I'm currently trying the other X000s to see what size I like in them. Give them a whirl...can't go wrong with Padron.

Pickup at least two or maybe four, split between the naturals and madorus. For years I have been going back and forth trying to decide which I like best. Put a year of age on the 1000 series and you will be wondering if the 64 are really much better or different than 1000 series.

Re: Padrons...

The Padron 3000 Maduro's was my first go-to cigar. It's rich, creamy and full of flavors from the 1st to the 3rd part of the smoke.

As a new smoker you will love these. And if not, there are many more to try

Cheers,
Brad
