Re: Checking the Humidity

When I bought my second humidor a couple of months ago I went for this one, specifically so I could put a hygrometer in it and not have to open to see it I have the Cigar Oasis inside plus Heartfelt Beads on order plus two more hygrometers so I can put them in the lower window on each side. Anal... yes, yes I am

In my other humidor (no glass) I tried the wireless hygrometer with transmitter, turned out to be~10% off so I took it back and just open it from time to time to check it.

Re: Checking the Humidity

I usually check mine every couple of days. In the last 2 weeks it has sat on 68% / 70 F every time. The cigars and cedar are like sponges and hold the majority of the humidity. Once you get a pretty good set-up going you can usually get away with sillyness like leaving the door open or going over a collection with a friend with little change in humidity.

If you go with a tupperdor, coolidor, or fridgador (like mine), I wouldn't underestimate the amount of cedar to add.
