Re: 5 Least Favorite Cigars

Interesting thread as I thought about this a few months ago. I know everyones taste is different but I also know that some people tend to get defensive about their favorite brands of cigars.

1. Any Nub,,,,and I have tried them all at least 3 times.
2. Any Tatuaje,,,,have tried a bunch of these and actually tried to talk myself into liking them,,,nope!
3. Macanudo,,,,,don't like any of them.
4. Drew Estate,,,don't even need a reason
5. Lars Teten,,,,terrible.
6. Acid,,,equally as terrible.
7. Davidoff,,,,go figure I'd not like something with a pedigree like this cigar.

I'd better stop as this could get lengthy.

The only one that comes to mind is a Cuvee 151. I had to toss it immediately due to taste.

Any NC sold by Altadis.
Most anything made by Fuente.
Anything made of all Dominican tobacco.
Any house cigars or substitute cigars regardless of who made them.
Gurhka, and I don't know who makes them.

Re: 5 Least Favorite Cigars

RP Edge - bland and always a construction problem.
Any H.Upmann product - the dictionary definition of bland.
Any ACID - too fragrant for me.
RyJ Reserva Real - like smoking cardboard!
Camacho Yellow Label - tastes like moldy hay.

Dishonorable mention goes to Fuente GOF and Partagas 150/160 for being overhyped and overpriced dog rockets.

Re: 5 Least Favorite Cigars

This thread is pretty interesting. Suprising to me how many high rated cigars are on the least favorite list. Very good idea this is

Re: 5 Least Favorite Cigars

I haven't been smoking cigars very long but I already have some least favorites:

  • Oliva Connecticut Reserve - as stated before, it was kinda disappointing
  • Prof. Sila - the cap is sweetened, sickeningly so
  • Rum Runners - really didn't like them
Luckily I've found plenty that I do like.

Joyo de Nicaragua ( I've tried... I've really tried.)
Siglo (Somebody @ Altadis should be slapped for this marketing campaign.)
Just about all Altadis (Now that I think about it.)
Onyx
Benchmade (Again... I've tried. I've really tried.)

1.) Fuente's, especially if it has a Cameroon wrapper.
2.) Anything Rocky Patel.
3.) Ashton Cabinet: boring and overpriced.
4.) Davidoff: way overpriced!
5.) I stay away from practically any Dominican puro.

Life is too short to smoke crap cigars, smoke what you like and be proud of it!

Re: 5 Least Favorite Cigars

AVO 787-absolutely love AVO but this blend is terrible.
Burnt mushrooms is all I have to say.
A.Bradley Tempus- all that hype.....all that let down.
Los Blancos- who? and what was that taste? oh that was
the taste of everything else that is
undefined and boring
HUpmann Cabinet Selection- the only cabinet this
should be in is the waste bin
CAO anything- incredible image advertising for mediocre
smoke .......if it's the last thing in the humidor it'll
do but Im not walking away satisfied and I
definitely won't have nubbed it.

Acids
Lars Tetens
Bucanero Red (Only because it was a mix filler and kept spitting tobacco)
Baccarat
Philly Blunt (only cigar I could find at the Elks Club)

I do agree with you about H. Upmann though... Most all of it is poop. At least all the ones I can purchase legally.

No, you're right....I don't think CAO stuff is bad....at all....it's just very mediocre....the "Brand" is way better than smoke....but as with all cigars, taste is personal and I understand that.
