Ji popped my Tat cherry

...and I loved every second of it.
hahahaha that is so wrong in so many ways!

Anyway, it was a Tatuaje Exclusivo Zona del Este (East Coast limited release). It started out with a refined initial spice with blasts of vanilla and leather, then calming down an inch in to a toasted vanilla/hazelnut and leather, changing midway to a certain creamy/tangy that reminded me of a CC twang, almost. The last third picked up again with toasty vanilla and a little pepperyness, with a lot but not overwhelming leather, finishing with hints of cedar. The nub I had a REALLY hard time letting go of, and the spiciness really kicked me in the mouth with a lingering hotness (not temperature) sensation of a good chile. The taste of buttery cream and cedar mixed with vanilla still lingers on my tastebuds, even a half hour after smoking it.

What a great intro to the Tat line this was. I strongly suggest you guys try one if given the opportunity! Thanks so much Ji! This smoke was probably the most eventful and tastiest I've had yet!

Cheers!
Isaac

Congrats! Haven't had a Tatuaje yet, but it'll be a priority in a couple months when my money situation gets in order.

I too am a recent convert to the "Tat club", now everytime I go to the B&M I buy a few. Excellent cigars!

I hear ya man. I just had to blow 100 bucks at the vet which was going towards my next purchase. Holidays are coming soon though! I still have enough to get what I was gonna, and I'm going to put some applications in for seasonal work this week. And I've got more than enough sticks to last me for a few months thanks to these guys here =D

Re: Ji popped my Tat cherry

Glad you liked it and kudos to Ji for sending that out to ya. I have tried several of them and just can't get my taste buds wrapped around them and kind of glad as they don't come very cheap. I got stuck on the Illusione from a good brother and now every time I see a CG4 I have to buy one. So many rabbit holes to fall into and the Opus X rabbit hole was by far my biggest one.

For those of us who know you we know what you meant,,,for those who don't know you,,,,you've got Isaac pegged. He is always in a hole of some kind as it's just semantics.

LOL at Gary and Isaac...

Isaac.. I'm glad to hear the cigar treated you well. So you liked this one better than the 98 Punch? That says alot!

Re: Ji popped my Tat cherry

It was very very close! I don't really think the two are comparable, though, as both were extreme changes of pace for me lol. If I were stuck on on island with a choice between the two, I'd have a really difficult time. The Punch was that "classic" taste I've been looking for forever, but the Tat was something that packed a lot of diversity. Both were incredibly good, and my brain is going crazy trying to decide if one was better than the other now! hahaha! I think they were both outstanding examples in their own rights!
Many, many thanks again, Ji!

Isaac.. don't hurt yourself trying to decide if one was better than the other. If they were both outstanding on their own, then that's all I could ever ask for in a cigar...

Re: Ji popped my Tat cherry

The Verocu blend you refer to is all the same, East or West, just different vitolas. It is not the same blend used in the "standard" Cabinet (brown label) Tatuaje. Tatuaje's are my favorites, mostly smoke the Regios, Regios Reserva, Cojonu, and Verocu #9.

If you like the east coasts... and are looking for a smaller smoke the verocu #9's are AMAZING
