I just updated my spreadsheet today to add the new smokes that came in the mail yesterday (5 pack LVH Maduro robustos, 5 pack RP Vintage 1990's and a 10 stick Nica Libre flight sampler) and I now have exactly 100 cigars. My humi is bursting at the seams. I have 7 lighters (including a sweet D-Day commemorative black crackle Zippo), 5 cutters, a 5 stick herf-a-dor and a 20 stick humi I use as a dry box. In August, I had nothing!

Plus I have a bunch of new friends. Thanks to all the BOTLs on here for the advice, support, laughs and information. This is truly a great hobby!

haha i hear you started with nothing and then my fellow puffers helped me out greatly i didnt have a humi i only had a tupperware which still use for over flow caused by my fellow puffers, im currently not working and my family is struggling but the friends ive made on here have helped me through the tough times with well appreciated sticks here and there

I don't feel as bad now. I too started my collection/serious smokin out at the end of July. Now I have 3 - 100 count humidors, 1 - 80 count humidor, and 1 - 40 count humidor all full. I have 2 tupperware containers with overflow, one of em pretty large and running a Hydra system.

If I could go back in time, I would have just gotten a 1500 count cabinet. Now the wife won't let me.

My progress was slowed by the Great Washing Machine Flood back in September. I had to fork over a bunch of cash in deductible and to buy a new washer, or I'd bee even further down the slope. I've even started thinking about pipes!!

My wife isn't too happy, but I don't bitch when she comes back from mall.

Before I joined this site, I was a complete newb. I had a small tupperware container that held about 5 sticks. Then I joined this site, bought a 20ct (what a mistake) that lasted me a few weeks. Now I have my 100ct and it's slowly getting full. Vinotemp here I come!

I'm a member of a ton of different online communities and this is BY-FAR THE BEST! The people here are absolutely incredible and it's such a tight knit community. Any one that joins will learn a lot here and make some great friends along the way!

Awesome! it is always fun to watch another fellow smoker slip into this addiction of cigars. One rule, anytime the wife ask how much something cost just tell her $20.

i too have started in very similiar fashion with a small tuppadore and only a few sticks to enjoy once a month. now i have a few more from a bombing thanks greatly to 'shuckins', now i can enjoy one every sunday.

as you mentioned, the botl/sotl from this forum are real helpful and very generous, some excellent advice and some good laughs aswell.

sometimes i wish i was over there to join in / attend a herf

i'm just about to smoke the CI blue label for my sunday night smoke

I'm resisting the slope as best I can but I don't think I can hang on long, especially after the montecristo #4 I had yesterday-- it was the most enjoyable cigar I've had to date. Of course it didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful and I was smoking 4 racks of ribs for dinner. Also, I had a dozen cold Stella's to keep me from dryin' out. I'm trying to hold at 12 cigars or less, at least until Santa brings me a humidor. I'm not sure I can resist that long.
