Beetle Mania...
After all the discussion over the past few days about beetles, I was starting to worry about my own stock. I thought this thru over and over in my mind. Was this paranoia? Modern day McCarthyism? Afterall, I've never had this problem in all the years I've been smoking. Funny, until I discovered this very nice place, I hadn't even given it any thought. Well, I couldn't take it any longer. My hypochondria was really acting up. So much so, that last night I got out of bed and examined every single cigar with a fine tooth comb. I spent an hour looking for something I did not find. Oh, I did have my moments. Amazing how one's eyes can play dirty tricks while searching, and praying that nothing bad will be found. The good news is my supply got a clean bill of health. The bad news might be that this forum has added un-needed stress to my even keel existence. I'm not sure whether to thank this place or blame it's members for my new found worry.
At any rate, I do feel much more relaxed today. Afterall, why worry. At 68 and 68, what possibly could go wrong? Today's measurment anyway. Tonight and tomorrow might be a different story. Digital gauges and measurbating is a problem in and of itself. More worries. Larry Last edited by larryinlc; 06-07-2006 at 02:45 PM.. |

Re: Beetle Mania...
Why not just let others do the worrying? It's easy, no cost and a great service. Avoid stress, simply have your stogies delivered to my address and I guarantee all stogies will be totally inspected thoroughly. You can then just relax knowing that all of your stogies are safe and sound.....

Re: Beetle Mania...
Glad to hear you don't have an active infestion, but 68/68 or any other RH/temp combo conducive to normal storage still cannot gurantee a beetle-less life.

Re: Beetle Mania...
I've heard that burning the beetle eggs will kill them. Since we are all BOTL we will help you out. Just send us each one of those beetle-egged cigars and we cremate them for you.

Re: Beetle Mania...
I hear you Larry, all this obsessing I think is a phase many of us go through. Over time I think we all find or come close to finding the middle ground. My obsess list is long and well documented here on CS.
But thank goodness for the patience of all those here. I'm sure people saw my posts and said oh no not another un-even rh problem (install a fan). Oh no not another smelly storage problem (clean, air out, add spanish cedar). In the end my problems were all non-obsess worthy since rh will stabilize over time with patience. Smells will usually succumb to the wonderfull odor of cigars. In the end I think you do your research and trust what you know/learn/accumulate over time. My OCD has really gotten so much better after finding this place.

Re: Beetle Mania...
To add insult to worry, I received a shipment in the mail today. It's 85 degrees, and it's no ones fault but my own that they sat in the mailbox for two hours. Yes, they were warm. They look good though but they will be seperated from the herd until I can be assured they will behave and not infest & propagate. This fun hobby used to be easy.
