Life's lookin pretty good right now

well, this last half month has been pretty good, but i haven't really relaxed much and enjoyed.

first, volleyball season came to an end. sad really, but it was a great season. potential was there, but couldn't get out of sectionals. had a lot of laughs and good times and i really enjoyed playin with the stud of our team. kid is all state and was chosen as player of the year by the sun-times and the tribune and will be playing next year at loyola in chicago. lost in a heartbreaker to our rivals that we seem to lose to every year (sandburg ) but oh well. very fun season.

next, i graduated. 4 long years of high school, finally. great times that finished with a great senior year. i really couldn't wait to get out of school and away from some people, but i think mostly i'll miss it and the people i actaully enjoyed being around.

i just came back from a successful trip to cleveland. me and two other friends took a road trip to see jacobs field. the white sox did lose in a thriller, but it was a cool expereince. i like the field better than The Cell, but the atmosphere wasn't there imo. city was kind of boring, but very nice people. the guy in charge of the tickets actually forgot em, and we realized it at south bend. fargin idiot!!! but we got new ones printed there. it was a scare, but i good story to tell.

then i just got back from orientation at Iowa. kind of boring, but a cool experience, absolutely can't wait to leave for college. moderately tough schedule (calc II, microecon, rhetoric, philosophy which will be cool) i just want to get out of my house and be on my own.

finally, in a day i'll be shippin off to europe for 3 weeks. soooo excited. it hasnt even hit yet. we're pretty much just wingin it, which will be most of the adventure. but when we're settled down, i jsut want to relax and hang with the locals and other tourists in a bar with great beer and great food.

so in short, i looked back on my busy month tonight. started the night by burning the x-mas tree. (the people with fake trees don't get the satisfaction of pine smell during the holidays, nor the pleasure of watching it get torched later on in the year. hehehe ) then, i just chilled with a Zagorka. Bulgerian beer, it was decent but really hit the spot at the time. then during the actual fire, i cooked a grilled cheese over it. haven't done that in forever, and actually did pretty well, i was proud of myself. damn good grilled cheese.

so then i thinks to meself, 'how could this night get any better?' A CIGAR! of course. i run back inside and grab a partagas coronas senior tubo i got from a friend. i haven't had much cuban cigar experience, but i know what i likes. this one was a like. started off a little shaky-uneven burn and a little harsh, but it got settled in. flavors kept switching back and forth on me. first carmelly and grahm crackery, then grassy and earthy. a well enjoyed, 50 minute smoke by the fire with the family.

and well.....that's pretty much my story so far. so, lifes looking pretty good right now. and, let's all knock on wood, i hope they can keep moving on up.

Glad life is looking good to you. That's a good thing. Enjoy Europe and be safe.

Mmmmm. Grilled cheese and a cigar - that sounds really good. I may have to give that a try.
