NC spectrum in 10 sticks

If you had to pick 10 sticks to show off the spectrum of flavors that NCs have to offer what would they be?

Re: NC spectrum in 10 sticks

That's a tough one. I would think to illustrate the light to mild, classic Connecticut wrapped cigar, you'd probably go with a Macanudo Cafe or somethign along those lines.

The Camacho Corrojo Diploma, for me, would be on the opposite end of that spectrum. Strong, classic tobacco flavor.

The Ashton VSG is on the more full-bodied end but much smoother and maybe creamier than the Camacho.

The AF Don Carlos line is also pretty smooth. More earthy.

The Cullman Signature or CAO Brazilia lines would provide a good idea of what spice you can get.

And, I guess I'd put the Graycliff red labeled cigar a notch ahead of the Macanudo. Still a little lighter. Stronger than the Mac with a more cedary flavor.

That's not 10 but these are the types of sticks I keep in my humidor to fit my various tastes.

Re: NC spectrum in 10 sticks

Good question here, trying to get the various flavors.

Puros do a good job highlighting flavors unique to their country of origin; most of my selections are puros for this reason.

My selections here are fuller bodied versions of your tour of flavors, if you like mild cigars look elsewhere.

Padrón 1926 Serie #9 Natural
Padrón 1964 Anniversary Principe Maduro
Arturo Fuente Opus X #4
Ashton VSG Enchantment
Camacho Corojo Diploma
Toraño Signature Perfecto
Tatuaje RC 184 Limited Perfecto
La Flor Dominicana Oscuro Natural Especial or Limitado II
Bucanero Treasure of Costa Rica Belicoso
Punch Gran Puro Rancho

This should be the top 10 sticks to shop for. Excellent list, Matt. I am bad at IDing flavors, so I couldn't pick 10, but I wouldn't argue with Matt's list, nice selections top to bottom.

Re: NC spectrum in 10 sticks

Okay, 10 sticks the would truly run the field of flavors and not just a top 10 list would be:

1.) Macanudo Hyde Park - Very Mild in flavor and body

2.) 5 Vegas Gold - Mild and rich, creamy and nutty.

3.) COA CX2 - Meium to full bodied Cameroon wrapper with hints of nuts and coffee.

4.) Gurkha Masters Select - Connecticut wrapper, full bodied with a long finish, lots of cedar and spice

5.) Edge by Rocky Patel - Extremely Full bodied with lots of spice and long finish.

6.) Ash Experience Maduro - Medium bodied with bits of spice and medium to sort finsh, a very smooth maduro.

7.) Partagas Black - Very full bodied maduro with long finsh and hints of ships tared ropes in taste, aspecialy inthe MAximo.

8.) Punch Rare Corojo - Medium to full bodied spicy corojo wrapper

9.) Acid Blue Line - Medium Bodied cigars with botanical flavors infused into them. (Hey, you may not like to smoke them but it fits well with the question at hand.)

10.) Cohiba - Do I realy need to say more?
