My local shop just got a box of sharks in. They raised the price to $10.95 since christmas and there is a limit of two per day, but they have to be different sizes so I could only pick up one. He said didn't receive their Opus shipment but they still have plenty in stock.

Can you actually report dealers to fuente?

Anyone who can get them close to MSRP, want to pickup a couple for me (anejos or opus X)? When they had opus X they were 32 dollars a stick, which isn't much better than the $38 for the anejo.

I happened to swing by a local B&M I haven't been to in years and they had two Anejo 50s left. Of course I gladly took them off their hands. I picked them up for $10 a piece. They also had some Oliva Master Blends, so I grabbed a torpedo and robusto.

Anyone know of any internet retailers who have them in stock and aren't charging ridiculus prices? Or if you did are they all gone aready, perhaps in your own shopping cart?
Monte,

Are you serious?? 38 bucks a piece for Anejo No. 55's? Wow!! That's over 400% mark-up, that's insane! Although the MSRP is $9, and I would expect a vendor to sell for more than that, 26 bucks more is ridiculous. I would start shopping for a new B&M if I were you.

You guys that have local shops that sell Opus and Anejos (for fair prices) make me jealous!

My local shop (the only one in my town) doesn't carry Padrons, ever! As for Anejos and Opus, I've only seen them once in the two years that I've lived in this town.

No kidding, for some things they are reasonable (close to MSRP, Tatuajes as an example), but for others it is just not right. 38 dollars for an anejo, that is more than any place I have seen online. They don't really advertise that they have them, only if you ask for them. They are probably embarrassed to be selling them for that. They do have two left last time I checked, anyone want me to pick them up for them? The only advantage is that they have a pretty good selection of smokes, just have to know what they should cost before you go in to make sure your not paying too much.

Re: Great find Today

My buddy in Tampa, who is relatively new to cigars, got taken hard by the same ploy. He bought over $100 worth of smokes and then at the register, the shop owner whips out a box of Opus which he proceeds to sell him for about $35 a piece. He learned a valuable lesson that day after I talked with him.

Sounds like your shop may very well be worth continuing to go to, but you're right, you definitely need to do your homework before buying, especially if they're ones that they have behind the counter.

It wasn't that much of a ploy, I had to actually ask for them by name before the guy took out the box. They have a walk-in humidor and the box was closed below all the other fuente smokes and the couple of opusX they had. He actually didn't recommend buying them since he said they weren't that good or at least that was his opinion. They probably aren't that good at 38 bucks a stick.

I was shocked too. Glendora Cigars in Glendora, CA. I would have bought more if they had them.
