Regular Rotation or Variety

I seen this posted on another board. The answers were very interesting.

I'm curious about what's everyone's preference. The more different Cubans I've smoked the more I find myself wanting the same cigars.

Do you have a regular rotation or do you like to try new boxes as often as possible? If regular, are you just to the point where you've smoked "everything" and now know what you like?

*** I think I am both. I like the Montes 2 and 4, Boli BBFs and PCs, Partagas Shorts and Cohiba Siglo VI.

But I still like a HDM Double Corona, Partagas Lusi and many others once and a while.

I know. I am a habano whore !

Oh yes lets not forget the custom rolled ones and etc , etc , etc.

So I gues I have my stand-byes but I still like to mix it up at times.

Im pretty moody.... i tend to stay loyal to my two favorites (the entire Hoyoline minus their Short... & RyJ Churchill) but like NC's i like to try a new stick almost inbetween each time i smoke a regualr

I am the same way. I love my Monte Edmundo's, #2's and #1's. PSD4's, Mag. 46's, and Siglo IV. However I do like a nice DC from time to time whether it be a Lusi, Hoyo or Punch. I also like RJ Churchills and Cuabas but they are not in my normal rotation. The more different brands I try, the more I go back to the ones I really like.

Re: Regular Rotation or Variety

I have some favorites, but I like many cigars. I really wish I could touch and smell before buying as I think the great ones can come from any brand or vitola. When I find the great ones I try to stock up on that box code if at all possible. Sometimes that works, sometimes it doesn't. Again, I wish I could touch and smell all boxes before purchase.

Re: Regular Rotation or Variety

i'm still at a point where i'm discovering things i really enjoy...i don't have a go-to at all.

though i tend to have ADD with the things i like, so i see myself as someone who mixes it up a lot, even as i try more!

Re: Regular Rotation or Variety

Although I have favorites like Hemingways, CAO Brazilias and Monte Afriques I find that most of the time I'm trying something new to me that I have heard about here or elsewhere. One of the many joys of cigars, IMHO, is the variety and the continuing quest for something new and wonderful.

Yep, me too. I guess I have a "variety in regular rotation", which is to say that I have a number of smokes that I like (AF, ERDM, Maria Guerrero, CAO) and some ISOMs, but I'm always open to the next 'go to' smoke to add to the collection to put on the buy list for when I'm back again working full time.

Re: Regular Rotation or Variety

Although mostly PC's, I have 2 or 3 boxes on regular rotation and try to mix in a couple of sticks here and there from a few others. Only have time for larger sticks on the weekends.

Definitely a variety at this point. But will say I do have some cigars that I want to keep in stock - ERDM choix, Mag 46, Trini Reyes, Punch RS11, 12, Punch, Party SDC1.

Re: Regular Rotation or Variety

Im still new to cigar smoking, at less than a year... so Im still trying to find a "favorite". I do have alot of smokes that I really enjoy.. mostly from CAO or torano... And when Im at my local B&M, if I can't find something new to try that is tickling my fancy, I just go back to an old favorite like CAO or torano products When it comes to my humi at home, I have a whole lot of variety, but Id like to stop that...

I have a few favorites I come back to once or twice every week or two (Boli PC, SLR A) with new ones in the middle. I love 'em all!

Still trying to figure out which is going to be my ATF, but I do have ones that I regularly like to smoke.

Variety here. No set rotation, just pop open the cab, pick something, and go.

Re: Regular Rotation or Variety

Like your Richard, I do both. My "going to work and coming home from work" cigars are almost always from the same rotation of 3-4 sticks. My "after dinner" stick is almost always something new (or something I haven't had in a while).

I guess I like the dependability and routine during the day and then some adventure when I'm relaxed and can pay attention to the cigar after the business of the day is over.
