HAve you met with the school's diagnostician? If not, you need to. She can have him tested for dyslexia through the school. If you went through a private entity, they would charge you between $1000-4500 to test your son. This may all be embarassing for your son, but it would be more embarassing to get a full scholarship based on athletics and then lose it because he has some trouble reading.

If your son is dyslexic, the shool's reading recovery teacher can help him learn the skills to cope with the problem. It can't be cured, but it can be conquered.

Start calling the cigar room the "LIBRARY" and toss in a bookshelf. Or not. Either way you're doing the right thing to help out - you a good dad. Sorry about the cigar budget big guy but it all works out.

I wish I could do that with my students. They're all 5th graders, but most are taking their third shot at 5th grade, so a Playboy would be age appropriate. MAy have to meet with my principal tomorrow.
