Helix Cigars...

What do you guys think of Helix cigars? I've been eyeing them because they just look delicious and are decently priced. Can anyone give me any insight? They've got Natural and Maduro, I'd like to try them both. I know they arent that really expensive novelty cigar that everyone cherishes after, but they look good.

Re: Helix Cigars...

slick you look like a night owl like myself....anyway...helix....ive smoked one and it was pretty good...but there are better out there. i had the maduro one...lemme check which one. it was a 652 Maduro. decent, but as cigars go, i prefer more. i've only had the one, and havent bought anymore. i know that a person needs to sample a few to see if they like it or not but for me, id say that i prefer others more. for the price, you can get some Sancho Panza Double Maduro's (if you're going for maduro) for about the same. and Sancho is quite a bit better IMHO. some people may love the helix's but for me they dont quite do it. But you know how it goes, its all up to preference. Dont listen to just one person on how they taste. You should buy a few and see what you may like. It may turn out to be one of youre favorites. Do like most people do, start smoking everything, cheep and expensive. You will start to get youre favs and your not so much's. Right now im on Padrons, CAO Brazilias, and Camachos. Enjoy the cigars and have fun trying new things.

Re: Helix Cigars...

I second the Sancho Panzas Double Maduros. I also strongly recommend the 5 Vegas Series 'A', an amazing smoke at a great price. Haveing said that, keep in mind I am more of a Cameroon fan myself, so my experience with Maduros is somewhat limited.

Re: Helix Cigars...

I think Helix's are great sticks for people just getting into cigars. They are pretty mild and light, and will treat a newbie nicely. Although I have moved on from Helix's, every now and then I will buy one when they have a sale on them at my local B&M.

I say go ahead and pick one up to try. They are not expensive, worst thing you can do is be out ~$3. I'm sure you'll find a lot worse of a stick as time goes on.

I tried a couple whan they first came out. As I recall nat&mad they were well made and mild. A very good value if you find you like milder smokes...Dave

Re: Helix Cigars...

It's a very easy nice and smooth smoke. Great for beginners. I smoke them every so often and they have always been the same. So sure - go ahead and grab a few.

And remember - smoke what you like - not what everybody says you should like.

Re: Helix Cigars...

I have smoked a ton of them , both the maduro and natural..The maduro has a different taste than other maduros I have tried..I guess I have moved on from this brand and have not ordered any for quite awhile. You can't go wrong with these and the price is right..

Kind of bland, very mild with a very light flavor profile. Yes, they are a great buy but, IMHO opinion, it's still money wasted!

I would agree! They're a great "breaking-in" cigar, and one that I have on-hand for those who are new to the hobbie!

This is a very MILD blend.... One that is not "offensive" to the new cigar-smoker, and one that is not offensive to the olfactory nerves of those within "sniffing distance."

'Nuff said.

Re: Helix Cigars...

I personally think the naturals are pretty bland, but the maddies I really like. Mild, but tasty. Good for the price, too.

Re: Helix Cigars...

Thanks guys. I guess I'll pick up just a couple of each kind and try them out. I'm not going to buy a whole box or bundle and waste money. Appreciate the input.

Re: Helix Cigars...

I tried one about two years ago. I personally couldn't stand it, and I have never tried one again. It wasn't a maduro, so maybe I should give one of those a shot.
