Going camping w/a friend...bringing 20 cigars...

Hey All:

So my friend and I decided to go tent camping and thought we'd bring 20 cigars for a 3 night stay lol ...my friend plans on smoking all his 10, but I'm going to save a few to add to my humidor.

I'm real new to cigars so I decided to get all 5 packs from JR..

Tell me how I did:

. HOYO DE MONTERREY ROTHSCHILD (MADURO)

. POR LARRANAGA HONDURAN BLEND CUBAN CORONA

. SANCHO PANZA CABALLERO

. EL REY DEL MUNDO ROBUSTO LARGA

Ordered some beads and going to put all of the cigars in a tupperdor I plan on putting together next week. I'll take a picture of all of them when they come in. This order will also allow me to get a larger collection going so I can enter the newbie sampler thread.

Ahhhhh ... life doesn't get much better than sitting around a campfire with a good friend and a good cigar. Enjoy!

Looks good. I have really enjoyed Sancho Panzas, but haven't tried any of the others. Enjoy your trip. Remember, leave no trace.

I think you'll have a great time with a good purchase. You have some flavor variety, and a smoke while kicking back in the woods is awesome. I don't remember where you live, but here in the West, you have to watch those ashes. Big fire danger out here. Have fun!!

You did good. Sancho Panza and ERDM are especially good. I also liked the Hoyo I smoked, though it wasn't maduro. No experience with Por Larranaga, so you'll have to tell me how that was.

yah, I thought I'd try to split 10 of them being mild-medium for the morning/afternoon and then have 10 of them be medium-full for late at night I know the ERDM Robusto Larga will be a long smoke at night. I was also wondering if I should take the tissue off of the ERDMs when left in the humidor or keep it on?? Are they like cellophane in which they are porous??

Leave the tissue paper on in the humidor as there is no need to remove it. Its completely porous and will help protect the cigar.

Thanks, it should be fun. I've never had any of these cigars before, so it will be an interesting experience. I compared all the 5 packs from JR with top25cigar reviews and those 4 seemed to be the big winners for the $$ and the strength I was looking for. $50 for 20 highly reviewed cigars seems like a great deal to me.

Re: Going camping w/a friend...bringing 20 cigars...

when ever i go camping i always bring a small humidor full of smokes. that's the nice thing about being a boyscout, i'm always prepared. it seems we always for get the matches for the fire, of the can opener, but we always have more than enough smokes for everyone
