Re: MSRP $750.00 For A Single Stick

I could never spend $750 on one stick. I would not enjoy it. It could be the greatest tasting experience of my life, and still it would not live up to the expectations I would hold for a $750 cigar. I'd spend the money on a nice humi and fill it up!!

Clerk: *laugh* I don't think so.

Oh and for $750.00. I'd expect the darned thing to taste like New York Cheesecake flowing from my nose in smoke form!

Complete and utter nonsense. I don't have that much trouble with the $750 price tag. There are probably cigars out there worth the price. No way in hell is it a Ghurka, just no way in hell.

Just thought I would let you know that the high bidder didn't have to pay MSRP for the Gurkha, they let him have it for a messily $161.00.

I could get alot more bang for my buck then that loon . Entire boxes can be had and darn good ones at that . At least the Anejos come in a 5 pack for that price on Cbid , not that I would pay that either for them . Some people just have too much money that they don't know what to do with .

i think this is ridiculous. if you want a $200.00 stick that could possibly be worth it get a vintage davidoff or dunhill. personally i would rather have a box of cubans than this stick any day of the week.

Re: MSRP $750.00 For A Single Stick

i think it is probably a complete waste of the louis xiii cognac to soak a cigar in it. you could probably use the 1/10th the price xo stuff and get the same effect. serious cigars smokers would take the cognac in a glass.

And Swartz has added profit centers such as a $1,200-a-pour 1937 The Macallan single-malt Scotch, a $525-a-pour Hardy's Perfection Cognac that dates to 1850, and a cigar list that includes Gurkha His Majesty's Reserve at $450."

Anyone, and I mean anyone, that would pay that much for any of this crap is a fool. A fool and his money are soon parted.

A $1,200-a-pour 1937 The Macallan single-malt Scotch,WTF??? A $525-a-pour Hardy's Perfection Cognac that dates to 1850, WTF?? A cigar list that includes [B]Gurkha His Majesty's Reserve at $450,again WTF?? This is truely sad! Do people do this just to flaunt thier money? Or is it a plea for attention "look at me". If some moron wants to pay that for any of these more power to them. "Stupid is as stupid does". IMO people do this stuff because of their low self esteem, so they can go boasting I had 1200 dollar Scotch, 525 dollar Cognac and a 450 dallar cigar. But hey, whatever floats a persons boat. I mean, people with low self esteem, ego problems and to much money have to have something to brag about right?? Someone who would pay this much has never done a real days work and has some serious self worth problems, they need to address. But hey, if they can pay that much for a few drinks, food, and a cigar then surely they go to a Shrink(who probably charges 500 dollars an hour ), and get some of their self issues addressed.

If anyone remembers Dylan said it once"All the money in the world will never buy back your soul".

Again if one pays $750 for a Gurkha, then I have some really good investment advice for them.

Re: MSRP $750.00 For A Single Stick

Just to play the devil's advocate for a moment, there are people not too far away from each one of us right now whose jaws would drop to see someone pay $1 for a plastic bottle of water. It's all relative.

Last winter I paid $28 for an Fuente Opus X Perfexcion 'A'. Before that, $25 was the most I'd spent on a single cigar. Last week I picked up a couple of Taboadas for $60, so $30 is now my high-watermark.

There are probably more than a couple of members of this board who think I'm nuts for spending so much cash on a single cigar (let's leave my S.O. way out of this!). Hey, maybe I am. I had an opportunity not long ago to spend $50 on a Bolivar Gold Medal and I passed. If my income was twice as much as it is, I would probably have gone for it and been grateful for the opportunity. Who knows how much I'd spend if my income was ten times as much as it is?

...No, dammit, I'm not even convincing myself here. $150 for a Gurhka?--from CigarBid?! What a jack-ass!
