Mine are in a big cigar box as well. I figure someday a project is in the midst.

Thumbs up Re: Saving Cigar rings?

Years ago, I use to do exactly the same thing. Tape the rings in a binder, along with tasting notes. Somehow, I got away from doing that after a year or so. I have no idea why, just got lazy I guess. If you can keep it going, it will be a great diary of your cigar smoking experiences.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

I too used to paste all the rings into a little notebook and write a mini-review. Now I just have them piled up. I'm thinking of using them as a base for an end table top. Perhaps cover them with some type of laquer. Or glass or plexi-glass. Think it would be cool to make something for outdoors to put my stinky ashtray & beer on.

hopefully wont be too long before i can start pasting them, im waitng until i have enough that i can start thinking about some sort of pattern/design rather than just putting them on slapdash and all over the place.

Exactly what I was thinking. A smoking table for the deck with my Stinky prominently displayed

I tape them together and make cigar band jewelry then give them away as birthday and christmas gifts.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

I have used my collection as a screensaver, I have traded with people from Europe, since they don't have the bands we can readily get, I have put them in different types of containers for display, like pasta jars and bird feeders and I have scanned them and put them online: Check out my collection here.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

If the band slides off undamaged, I toss it in a large (overflowing)coffee can. Why I save them? I have no idea why I save half the crap I do now.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

I once dropped all my cigar bands into a box. Then I read a post on another cigar forum asking for bands, so I sent the guy the box. Now I don't bother, except when I smoke at my local cigar shop...the owner keeps a large glass jar on a table for the bands, so I drop mine in there.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

I throw them in the trash, in my pocket, in a bag somewhere, in my flower plant (I only have one).. etc..

They pretty much just get thrown.

A necklace of Padron 64's or AF, ah, what a sight.
