It's kinda cool to look back (not too far for me) and see all the different rings I have tried (I only keep 1 of each ring-no duplicates) I was wondering if anyone else does a similar thing?
I do pretty much the exact same thing. Went to the book store and bought a nice leather writting journal (1 for habanos, 1 for NC's). Keeps the experience going after the cigar is gone

Same here. It's either a picture or attach them to my coolidor.

I hold on to each new one with the idea that someday I'll fix them all to the outside of my coolerdor. Just for a little flair.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

THey have those static plastic pages like for photos.

Another very cool Idea if you have 100 gallons of laquer would be to laquer them under your bar like they do with coins and bottlecaps etc

Or you could drop them in an old cigar box and forget them even like nearly everyone under the sun that smokes cigars including me does.

Why don't we just throw them out anyway?

I wonder how many of us are in this same situation . With anything I do to the house , I must let the wife pick the colors and patterns except in my room . I have almost every band from every cigar I've ever smoked . If I finished it , I have it and that means that I liked it . If it stunk , it went in the trash with the band on it .

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

I've only been smoking cigars for about a year and a half. Like many of you, I've been saving one band from each brand for some kind of future artwork to go into my den. Already have a couple of hundred bands pressed flat in a book. Unfortunately, I have ABSOLUTELY no art talent and will have to find someone to do something with them.

All of my other bands have been going into cigar boxes for some unknown compulsive reason. The second box is almost full. Now that I think about it, I really can't offer a good reason why I'm doing this.

Not only do I keep the ring, I date it on the back and give it a 1-10 rating so I can remember in 10 years if I liked it or not. Then I just paperclip them together until I can figure out a better storage solution.

Re: Saving Cigar rings?

Plan to make a collage or table top like others have mentioned, but I'll probably never get around to it. I'd like to do one of those collages that looks like something else from a distance.
