Are they any good, or just overpriced?

Re: Graycliff Cigars. Anyone had them?

I really like the Professional (blue) series, consistently a great smoke. Lots of folks around here like the Espresso (black) series - I've only had one but didn't like it quite as much. Will have to try another. I think some people also like the white (crystal??) series but I haven't had one of those. Purple is new and I haven't noticed too many opinions on them. I also like the original (Red) series pretty well but it seems that no one ever chooses them as their favorite...

ps - just like with any other expensive (super premium or whatever you want to call them) cigars, you can probably find them cheaper elsewhere - cbid is only really good for less well known (or less sought after) cigars so there aren't too many bidders raising the price...

Re: Graycliff Cigars. Anyone had them?

I actually tried my first Red Graycliff this past Sunday. To be honest, I was not all that impressed with it. The flavor was rather ordinary for most of the cigar...not something that I was expecting from a $20 (retail) cigar. During the first third, however, there was a nice and smooth creaminess to it, but it soon diminished after that. I hope the other Graycliffs are a bit better.

http://gstreetcigar.com has them off of Newbury St. Never had one either, but 95% sure he has them in stock.

I'm far from an "expert" Dave, just tried most of them...thanks for the thought though

My personal preferences:

Expresso: Medium bodied, rich, complex smoke. A

Grand Chu: Medium bodied, more straightforward in flavor, good cigar. B

Crystal: Like the Tacos for a short smoke, but pretty mild for my taste. C+

The rest (red, blue, etc)....good flavor, but extremely mild....I won't give my opinion on a grade because they're just not my personal cup of tea.

Where do you get them? Are they cheaper than whats on CBid? They're about 10-12 each on CBid, which is one of the pricier cigars on there.

I'm selling some of the Grand Cru line:

If you want one or two to sample. (And yeah, they're pricey.)

yes OVERPRICED but a nice morning smoke IMO. I enjoy both the RED and Blue labels but not a fan of the others. Their roller/blender was originally with COHIBA and the factory is among their resort. Bad thing is even at the resort the prices are still what we pay here. My B&M carries them and i'll occasionally purchase 1.
