Thompsons, JR's etc...Private lines?

Let me see if I have this right....General Cigar, Altadis, Fuente, Camacho, MATASA, Plasencia and a few others supply cigars to the general public for retail. Who of these supply Thompson's or any other private label brands? Is it General or Altadis or who? I think this is a pertinent question and I wish someone with some knowledge of this would give some real answers other than just saying it is a crappy company. I read the article in Cigar Magazine about "Black Tobacco" There is a hell of a lot of overlap name wise in fillers binders, wrappers etc. Same tobacco seed grown across the road being different....Hybrids, etc ...etc..etc...
Give me some imput here boys and girls...This ain't even about women running cigar companies..Can somebody give some real answers on the private label stuff??

I've had the Thompsons flagship lines and I ended up throwing them away.There are many private lines that I hear are very good though.Keep watching someone will chime in...Dave

I dont think Altadis imports/stocks them (i assume youre talking about the US branch not the spanish one that is the sole importer of cubans to spain)?

Many if not most of the private label frontmarks are rolled by established companies, like Perdomo, that have thier own brands as well.

In terms of Thompsons, a lot of their brands are made by Felipe Gregorio (or at least used to be). I am not sure about Jr's.

JR Ultimates are made by Villazon, same place as Punch, HdM and ERDM. I dont know about their Alts.

I guess I am looking for a more specific answer than anyone is able or willing to give.

It shows the cigars he makes for Thompsons.....Frank's Way is also one he does and it is in the July 2006 Catalog. Also, the Iguana and a number of others sold through them.

I still would like to know about the Nero brand of Thompsons because it is associated with Nestor Plasencia in their advertising.

I just think it would be interesting to know who makes the Thompsons banded house brands.

Al Remp's cigar blog shows pics of them visiting a Plasencia factory.

I just think it is all very interesting considering that Thompson's does so much advertising and also gets a lot of new people into Cigars.

Btw....My interest in Cigars came a long time ago from ads in Playboy. So, there ya go.

Not meant to stir things up...just going to get info of possible interest.

If ya wanted to know about Nero's, why didn't you ask about Nero's, instead of getting yer panties in a bind because people were "unable or unwilling to give." you an answer that fit the secret question in your head. Sounds kinda snippy to me when they DID answer the question you asked. Maybe you know some mind readers, but I don't and expect most people hear don't. Even if you had said this is all very interesting, but I misworded my question I'm really interested in the Nero line, would have been better than insinuating we didn't wanna help you...with the way you did it, yer right, I have no desire to help you now.

Thank you very much....insinuations aside....Excusing the "panty wedgie"... There was no real certainty in the answers to the question I posted. Also, there ARE a lot of people onsite who do have answers. The question wasn't a hard question for those with the knowledge of it. Also, I did not just want to know about Nero Extra's. IF, you read the post I wanted to know "who" supplies Thompson's and others with their private brands. Really a pretty simple question for such a knowledgeable group of people. The major players in the industry are well known. I also still think it an interesting question. I found out what I wanted to know about some of it. Sorry if it offended you.

IMHO you will find better companys rolling house brand smokes but not with the quality leaf that they use in their own cigars.Which makes sense from a business point of view. ...Dave

The fact that Felipe Gregorio rolls smokes to Thompsons explains a lot.. I havent enjoyed anything from them in a while.
