Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
My apartment hasn't been getting cool enough even with the AC in this SOCAL heat. (83-85 daytime, 77-79 at night in my apartment) The humidor has been averaging 74-79 degrees and I have been worried to say the least.
This morning before work I placed my Humidor directly in front of my AC vent. Just got home from work and the temp is reading 72 degrees and 71% humidity. I'm smoking one of my new Maria Mancini Degaulle's in Celebration! (and having a Brandy )Last edited by air1070; 07-18-2006 at 08:42 PM.. |

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
It has been over 100* in my town for the past 4 days. I have had the AC on pretty much non-stop. Need to invest in an edison-ador real soon. Don't even want to see my electric bill.

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
Good idea with the A/C vent!! I'm surprised it only 83-85 in SoCal, in Detroit we've been in the 90's for about a week now. Hit 98 the other day. Thank God for the winecoolerdor!!

Im in the same boat as Eric...Luckily, I have a basement where I keep my humis. My humis have been pegged at 68* since I've put them down there.

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
Been avg. 93 in Charleston for the past week or so. Probably over 100 w/the humidity. I've been keeping my 3 humi's at 69 degrees and 66 rh by keeping them by the air vent. My AC stays at 72 degrees by the way. Find a cool place in the house and you can make it.

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
Past few days have been in the upper 90's and many NH towns have set records. Fortunatly, I have central air but still the coolerdor sits in front of an AC vent...and it's so humid that I've had a hard time smoking outside!

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
Been damn near high 90s in Central NY the past few days. Have my cigars in my room with the blinds pullled down and the ac cranked to 64*. Smokes are sitting nicely at 68*.

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
Well I have been having a real hard time recently, due to the heat wave here in the UK my coolerdor shot up to 80 deg a few days ago and was feeling really warm inside. Obviously id rather not have an outbreak of mold or beetles (have frozen most of stock anyway). At the moment i have been using freezer blocks which i am changing every 12 hours, at the moment when i open the humi to swap the melted blcok for a frozen one the temp is at about 72 so i assume it has been lower during the day. hopefully this will be ok until summer passes (its the UK it wont be long).
Does show another advantage of the coolerdor though, my tupperdor would have baked my cigars by now! |

Re: Woo Hoo! 72 Degrees!
Definitely "cool" air1070!
I put my humidor in a separate room and invested in a window a/c unit. I have my house thermostat set at 78-79 degrees till 5 p.m, but the room with my babies is a constant 68-69/65%...ahhh. It's a nice feeling. ![]() |
