So here I am on vacation with.....no matches
I flew down to Tampa this morning and brought 3 sticks with me to try. Carlos Torano Casa Torano, RP Connecticut and Gurkha Doble Maduro. The sun is going down and nobody has any matches. Nobody. Oh well, I am going to Central Cigars tomorrow anyway so I should be able to get some matches (and smokes).
So my question is, has anyone used the torch insert for a zippo and if so what is it like? I can get a zippo otterbox if the insert works that way I always have something with me. I can not remember what that thing is called, only that it installs into a Zippo shell and uses butane. Scottie |

Re: So here I am on vacation with.....no matches
TSA and no lighters !! That's the one thing I hated about traveling....luckily sometimes you can get on over on 'em is you pack it wisely...... The insert is the Blazer Torch Flame Lighter Insert. Here is a review that Doc wrote on it: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=20374 The only drawback I had was the clicker not working......here's a link to repair: http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=25502 I will get another one to have as a backup. I recently got a PB 207 This is my new goto tool !!!!!! If you can find one.....get one !!http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=21959 As far as the otterbox, they're cool !! But !!!! Just be sure and read the helpful reminders: http://www.zippo.com/otterBox/zippoOtterBox.aspx and HAVE FUN !!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy the smokes !!!!!! ![]()

Re: So here I am on vacation with.....no matches
It's called a "Z-Plus" insert. I've got one and am content with it. The nice thing is that I can keep using the lighter my wife got me as a wedding present. It works fine so long as I have it turned up all the way and click it a couple times. The bad things are:
1. Doesn't light on the first (or usually even second) click. 2. Have to use the highest setting (careful of your eyebrows). 3. It's a PITA to get out of my Zippo sometimes. All in all, I'm glad I have it. But I'm thinking of getting a regular butane lighter for home use. ~d. |

Re: So here I am on vacation with.....no matches
I have found that if I pack my lighter in my toiletries bag the lighter does not get confiscated (to much stuff to confuse screeners). I always pack them empty as well and buy butane at the first B&M I stop in.
Only time I even had anyone look at it was in Vail last month but I told the security guy that it was empty, he tried it and put it back.
